My post disappeared 😶

I had just previewed a post I had written in the Trades section (about a delicious meal I had yesterday), went to add something on the end of it, and the whole thing disappeared ๐Ÿ™„

I was completely unable to get it back.

Had I been on my laptop I might have tried control Z, but I was on my mobile. Tried looking at my history but it wasn't there.

Should I have saved the draft? I don't recall anything like this ever happening before.

It was quite a long post, and I didn't have the energy or inclination to write it all out again from scratch ๐Ÿ™„

Hi Sue,

I had a look at the server page view logs to see what happened.

ย

  • I can see you requested the New Post page from the server in the Trades section at 08/Aug/2022 17:17:26
  • Then your browser requested the forum homepage on 17:18:30
  • Then the 'About This forum' section at 17:18:53 (and presumably posted this thread)

So based on that, it suggests you may have accidentally pressed the Home button on the page as you were writing the message.

If you accidentally navigate to a different page while writing a message, you should be able to press the back button and the message will still be there. On Android Chrome, the back button is usually the < arrow at the bottom of the screen.

The "Save Draft" is also helpful if you are writing a long message. If you press that then next time you enter the posting page you will see a "Load Draft" button next to the "Save Draft".

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.ย  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case ๐Ÿค”

    • Saying cyclists are the most antisocial people in London isn't helpful.ย  Nor is the Standard referring to cyclists as lycra clad loutsย  Yes we can have an adult conversation.ย  But emotive knee jerk nonsense is not going to achieve this and just plays into the hands of those wanting a manufactured culture warย
