Very surprised to see that he was picked to play for West Ham last night, bad optics for the club and manager.

Police don't appear to be investigating but hopefully the RSPCA are and will remove all animals and seek a prosecution...

You've already answered, I think, Duncan.

He should be prosecuted for animal cruelty, banned from keeping animals for life (and his cat rehomed with a loving owner) and dropped from the team as he is a role model and kids will emulate him.

For every action there is a reaction ?

If Zouma has come out and said he is ''a good Muslim'' then I'd take ST's comment as being ironic in intention and understand why he posted that.

However, if Zouma hasn't said that, then, rightly or wrongly, it does read as a general pop at Muslims per se.

I'm sure ST will want to clear up any confusion...

This wasn't a man roughhousing with the cat and the cat playing back - this was a proper boot that could have broken bones.

It's not clear, and ST hasn't taken the opportunity to clarify.

If this was a builder or taxi driver it is hardly front page headlines. Maybe a small section of a local newspaper.

So

1. RSPCA taken action

2. Police may take action

3. Club will take action, but would have been sensible to suspend him straight away

Main discussion point is why he did it, and why on earth it was filmed and put on social media

Even in terms of animal cruelty it wasn't that high up the list, there are far worse stories on animal neglect.

Builders and Taxi Drivers are not in the Public Eye in the way Zouma is.

Kurt Happy Zouma is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club West Ham United and the France national team.

Salary: 1.44 million EUR (2011)

As a Professional Footballer one would expect him to behave as such.

Someone that is looked up to by the 10's x 1,000's that flock to see him play each week.

An Ambassador to West Ham.

An example to young people.

To do what He did and Record it and put it on Social Media is inexcusable.

He was fined ?250,000 ?? 2 Weeks pay. Peanuts to him.

What he did reveals what this man is all about. What he is capable of doing..

West Ham need to dump him.. People have long Memories.

To abuse an animal for "fun" is one thing.

To put it on a well-used social media platform is another.

To do both when you are an extremely well-known and (hitherto) respected sportsman is bizarre and very self-destructive.

I hope he gets fined and loses his livelihood (for a short period of time).

There?s no doubt what zouma has done is wrong.

Personally I think the whole thing has blown completely out of proportion! (I have refused to watch the clip so have no idea of exactly what took place)

I strongly believe this whole story & how it?s has been dealt with has undertones of racism.

People are prepared to hang him literally for his foolish behaviour.

Of course it?s wrong what he has done, he?s had a huge fine which I?m sure nobody has ever been given for this type of behaviour, he?s lost sponsorship deals amongst other things!

I?d love to see how things would?ve turned out had he not been a black man!

Yes he screwed up big time but he doesn?t need to pay with his life!

I have also read an article saying his brother has been suspended by Dagenham & Redbridge for filming the video.

There will no doubt be racists piling-in, but I'm sure the vast majority of people are just repulsed by what he did, not who did it.

I blame the club for not suspending him straight away until an investigation was carried out, that way he would've at least been taken out of the firing line for a bit...
