Southwark Foodbank need volunteer drivers!

Recommended Posts

Southwark Foodbank are desperately in need of volunteer drivers!

Details below:

Our food bank provides emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a UK without the need for food banks. Without our volunteers, selflessly donating their time, we simply would not be able to support the thousands of people in crisis.

The number of people needing food banks has increased in recent years and we anticipate this trend to continue especially due to economic pressures and the rising cost of food and living. As a driver you will play a vital role to our food bank ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community.

Tasks include: Collecting produce from our partnered supermarkets and other locations for delivery to our warehouse. Replenishing food bank centres with re-stocks. Stock runs from warehouse to partners such as Peckham Pantry.

You will always be with an experienced member of staff who will co-ordinate the session and have the day planned, leaving you to concentrate purely on the driving aspect!

Requirements:

You will need to have a full driving licence.

You will need to be comfortable using a smart phone.

We would appreciate a commitment to volunteering for 4-5 hours a week/biweekly, between 9am-2pm (weekdays).

If you are a motivated and reliable individual and have experience of driving, we would love to hear from you!

This role is based in Peckham, London & involves driving a ZipVan.

Please note: this is a volunteer role. It is not a paid opportunity.

If you are interested, please email: [email protected] or send me a private message

Thank you!

    • If you accidentally gave them the wrong account to send the money into, just transfer it into the account it should’ve gone to. Any accountant will understand that mistakes can be made when you’re handling several accounts. Done it myself loads of times and never had a problem with any accounting. Totally legit.
    • I’d love details of this group if anyone can share!  thanks
