Who's isolating for Xmas?

Well I see that 200 odd of you have looked at this thread but not joined in. Lessons so far. You get inundated with messages from test and trace. [OMG LFT tests have literally just arrived on the doorstep ordered just before Xmas]

T&T requires a ten letter password, whereas the other NHS ones an 8 letter so can't use the more generic ones OK for sites you wouldn't expect to be hacked.

The system counts from when you put the test result into the system, rather than the date of the PCR, or even when you probably first had it, so there is a few days lag. So say got it on the 22nd, positive PCR on 24th, test result on 26th, and entered it a day later (thought it would go into the system automatically) 7 days takes me to the 3rd rather than around today.

T&T wants to take you back quite a long way for your contacts, even though was not contagious as LFT'd regularly.

T&T doesn't seem to align with family members/close contacts who are also positive and has beeped some of them.

T&T does not take into account that the first thing you do when finding your household is positive is to contact those you may have passed it onto (fortunately nobody else has got it - although we older family members were not socialising much).

Overall T&T a bit clunky but not dreadful.

LFTs ran out in pharmacies before Xmas but fortunate to borrow some, and got an order in on the gov website in the short windows when it was taking orders, as said literally just been delivered.

Younger members of household now negative and can be released tomorrow pending further negative LFT.

Interesting to know how the lurgy progressed in the household, who gave it to who, original source (have some views on this). We've been very good in isolation as I am sure most of us have been/will be.

We all were. Felt quite ill for a few days (not terrible though).

T&T not really relevant for me because I hadn't been out the house except to test, so no experience of that. PCR test centres all very well ran, and all seem very quiet. So - as malumbu pointed out - it is very odd that tests close to home (or a choice of centres) not really available.

As I very obviously had symptoms I waited out the full 10 day period and then some, before venturing out of the house.

Oh, and if you don't get vaccinated (without valid medical reason) then you're a moron.

    • Do also remember that, whilst this is the original there is an unrelated FB presence with a (very) similar name, which might also be prayed in aid.
    • Yet another increase, its absolutely disgusting. I was charged £7.95 to send documents recorded delivery last week. I asked for the Signed for option that only costs £2.50 but the Post Office refused & said they would only send them recorded delivery.
    • Thanks Admin for clarifying - I’ve now found the post they used to scrape my telephone number from. So it wasn’t a data breach from EDF, rather my foolishness posting it online 15 years ago…    Still leaving this thread here if that’s ok so that people are aware of this scam and don’t fall foul of it (also to think twice before posting phone numbers here as it can be used by any one as I’ve found out!)
    • There is deliberately nowhere to enter your phone number, name, address etc anywhere when registering an account on this forum. There never has been. There is no way to attach this sort of personal information to your account.  If someone says that EDF has given your phone number, then this is a lie. No personal information is sold to any third party and it is not collected in the first place.
