Pebble dash removal or covering

Hi

We have a lovely old house from 1890's which some clever person has covered the front of with pebble dash.

I really don't like it and would love to restore it back to brick but have no idea of cost / time etc.

Is the other option rendering over the pebble dash or do you remove the PD the render if the bricks are in a very poor state?

Thanks

You would have to remove the pebble dash one way or another and don't trust anyone who says they can smooth over your existing wall, unfortunately we have it on the front and side of our house

we got a quote to do the front of our house and it was about 10k so decided it wasn't worth it, so it's been painted over it which makes it look (a bit) better.

    • Apart from being yet another eyesore in our lovely park the track is going to be 5 metres wide, that’s wider than my living room! By the time this is installed it will be too late for people to object. This must be rethought, even more of our park is being given over to GALA. The council didn’t factor in HGV access when they planned the flood alleviation works and now they expect park goers to suffer further. Complaints might help, worth a try but needs to be before the consultation ends on Feb 10th
    • It is absolutely real, I walked past the site, complete with car and trashed wall, at about 2pm this afternoon.
