Poison, is a fine piece of work by a fine artist(e). It's no School's Out of course, but then very few pop/rock songs are.

Unless I misheard it I think AC used the archaic word 'riven'. Possibly incorrectly. but he gave it a go, and anyway he maybe had a golf appointment with Groucho Marx. As was his wont.

Consider, pausing over some pop producer who's informoing you that you've perhaps misused a word and going off for some sport with a comedy legend?

Alice went off to play golf with Groucho. Course he did.

Alice, bloody geezer, right.

Of course Back For Good, it's impossible to dislike. You have to be an utter pop-despising bastard to do so.

But that was that, with Take That.

Wasn't it?

I mean every group's got at least one decent song in 'em. And that was theirs.

Sodding bloody great. But that'll do. Break up, be on your way and no more'll be said.

Then 80% of the buggers get back together and put out a cowing, frigging pop gem called Patience.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that if you don't like Patience, then you don't like life itself, no.

But if you don't, then a brisk push on the right-hand side of the head would be completely in order.

It's balls-out brilliant.

Say different, you're lying. You know you are.

But don't you just wan to put little Mark Owen in you pocket and take him home and put him in a little cage with sawdust and a little house full of cotton wool and give him some speech therapy ... Awwwwww

    • I agree. Internal rifts and factions will be music to Farage's ears. McAsh wrote something not long ago about how the centre and left need each other. This government is far from ideal but we need some stability not a far-left coup.
    • This new party might do nothing more than serve Reform victory in the next election - there is no mood for a far-left party (as 2019 aptly demonstrated) and taking votes from Labour could be a nightmare for the whole country. But Corbyn has only cared about himself and his ideology - once a backbencher, always a backbencher.
    • The fragrant Nancy Birtwhistle advises this spray on site of urine/faeces to deter canines: 200ml water 50ml vinegar 30 drops peppermint extract or oil Put in spray bottle, use daily for a week.
    • Reading this sort of stuff - it's tiring. It's a weird focus on marginal English politics instead of the mainstream and instead of UK politics. How do you use 4 ex-Labour MPs getting elected an example of a supposed trend but ignore the election of 411 Labour MPs in the same election? How do you waffle on for several hundred words about the prospects of new left parties without mentioning what's been happening in this area for the last 20 years in Scotland and Wales?
