Nigello
Make a fire where, Sue? Hopefully not in a smokeless zone - ie. all of Southwark and most other places. It may smell lovely and cosy to you but it's awful if you have a breathing problem. Sue
I use smokeless fuel in my open fire, and to the best of my knowledge the fire logs I gave away were also smokeless.Do you know what fire logs are?Perhaps you are confusing them with wood???I have asthma and would not knowingly burn anything which contributed to air pollution, but thanks for your concern.ETA: I have no idea which brand mine were as I no longer have them, but if you google "Smokeless fire logs" you will find many different kinds. Given that, as you say, Southwark is a smokeless zone, I doubt that anybody locally would be selling fire logs which cause smoke, even if they were available. Here's just one example, though I didn't buy mine online:http://www.amazon.co.uk/FLAMEFAST-INSTANT-LIGHT-SMOKELESS-BURNS-HOURS/dp/B00NIL3I2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458902604&sr=8-1&keywords=smokeless+fire+logs Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/99273-gone-five-fire-logs/#findComment-978166 Share on other sites
Nigello
I stand corrected. People do burn coal/wood in and around SE22; I've seen, smelt and suffered the effects of it. Calsug
There is no problem burning wood so long as your stove is DEFRA approved .... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/99273-gone-five-fire-logs/#findComment-978228 Share on other sites
