with Divan bed:

slides under mattress and is secured at opposite side with the metal oval you can see in picture

can use the fold down mechanism

with wooden framed bed:

the mattress holds the frame in place firmly (this is how we have nearly always used it)

cannot use the fold down mechanism

Ideal for travelling, folds away into a bag sized 55cm by 30cm
