Yes, in fact we could commence a "class action" against them for failing to act with due speed and diligence.

I dunno admin... I'm sure there must be a profit making organisation based on growling... ;-)

Oh benevolent dictator Sir, what was the point of writing that and pointing us to that direction if we can't have signatures anymore? And since when were all of them 'silly'? I thought mine were useful and of a public service (accepting you don't want me to say I am a Humanist celebrant of course, which I am, but that was doctored out, and then the rest of my useful signature was cut along with everyone's.
Sean may have meant that some of us choose to have a silly signature though I doubt he could argue they were all silly. I think, not that it matters a hoot, that anything of public interest should be allowed. I for one would want to use your services PR as I'm not a church goer but it would probably depend on my being able to PM you before I took my last breath.

PR - what is with the constant sniping?

To the best of my knowledge I have welcomed you at forum drinks, provided you with an early idea with a story you shared with us , and agreed with you publicly on many occassions, and disagree with others. So what's with the constant pettiness? I think you believe you are fighting some noble fight but I don't see the masses rising up behind you, so it might be worth counting to ten

The "silly" in my post above refers to "recreational" sigs such ss woof's and declan's above. The idea was to keep THIS thread for a serious discussion about non-silly sigs. People are still allowed to have sigs as you well know, but admin has put a stop on promotional sigs

[Edit: Just saw Declan point out much the same]

The councillor's sig which appears to be a problem is a useful contact number for someone who is involved in day to day running of local services - not that he gets anything but grief for his trouble. it is, on the scale of things, a far more useful service than a folk club or someones beliefs.

Benevolent Dictator - I am, unfortunately neither. Not only do I not run this place, I fail to see how the person who puts his own money and time into offering a free service to local people can be so maligned. But if I WAS the person who runs this forum, I probably wouldn't be as benevolent, on that you are correct

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen

Sean,if you read your previous post it is a bit schoolteacherish. I know you are a moderator or whatever it's called but as you have said it's not your forum there possibly wasn't the need for your post as Admin seemed to be coping fine with it. No offence intended.

As for the quote above, and I don't know either of you, but could PR's signature may have helped her survive financially in these difficult times by bringing in some business. It may be dead out there but every little helps! Perhaps it may explain the sniping you refer to.

I know you are a moderator or whatever it's called

Forum ettiquette may be a constantly evolving concept, but i've always been of the impression that outing the moderators was extremely bad form, along with outing people's true identities. No, not against any written rules, but bad form nonetheless.

Well if you are accusing me of a breach of etiquette then it's one I'm not aware of given moderators have willingly advised that they were one when asked.May I ask where you got the impression it was 'bad form'? As for outing people's true identities, I use my real name. Why don't you? Have you a good reason not to?
