Dear Admin,

As I am not able to reply or comment in the main section (getting on for a year now), I thought I would raise this issue here for you to read.

Once again, numerous people have taken a legitimate and important thread off topic in the main section, to take personal digs at others. I am not going to mention names publicly it isn't fair, but I would appreciate if you could respond and let me and others know why this is allowed, without any intervention from yourself.

At the same time, I am still languishing in the Lounge when I've not done anything wrong. We all know certain folk on here disagree and like to perpetuate the line that 'Louisa regularly says and does horrible things' etc etc (primarily to keep me locked in here no doubt), but please, can you stop the double standards on this forum.

Louisa.

The thread was taken off topic by DulwichFox, and replies have been made to the ridiculous things he said and the contradictions to his own posts. Apparently nobody should eat in any of the cafes or restaurants, as it's a sign that people have no life, but it is fine to drink in a pub. You agree?

Here's the post that took it off topic...

I did NOT take the thread off topic.

I said 'I am always amazed at the number of people who seem to be eating out these days...'

Any other comments were in reply to personal attacts by some usual suspects.

And whats all this about it being 'fine to drink in a pub..'

Who is that aimed at and what are you implying.. ?

Those in favour of keeping LoopyLou banned from the General Section, please raise your hand...

Don't reply or Foxy will likely threaten you with the police as part of some sort of hate crime thing....

Pickle whether I agree with foxy and his initial comment on that thread is irrelevant, and frankly a side show here. The bigger point is this. Once again certain people patronisingly gang up on one individual to sort of troll/bully one point made by that person. It's out of order, and people justify it by saying they are 'calling person A up on contradictory comment B' etc. It's ugly behaviour, and easily fits into the 'nasty trolling' category in my book. And yet, some of the folk jumping on the 'me sir, me, me, I also think person A is talking bollocks' are often more than happy to freely dig me out for being a nasty individual who trolls. Double standards. And still no response from Admin, surprise surprise.

In response:

The thread in question veered off topic, you made me aware and by that time the thread was back on topic so there was no need for a "please stay on topic" request. As for people taking personal digs at others, if people put discussion comments out about what they do then they can expect people to discuss what they do, especially if there are inconsistencies. The fact that it happens to the same person frequently can make it feel like a herd attack, however if someone frequently presents themselves as prey what can we learn from that?

We do keep an eye on trolling when we are made aware of it, contrary to what you think we don't read every post. Also we have different rule books Louisa, mine is for the best of the forum as a whole and not to benefit specific individuals such as yourself. And goading me does you no favours.

From where I'm sat, it looks like someone essentially telling everyone else on the thread to "get a life". And others arguing their corner with a bit of gentle piss-taking thrown in. Personal attacks? Trolling? Bullying? You must have lived a sheltered life...

But others goading me and fox and other users is OK is it? Double standards, as I said previously. And what do you mean by "does you no favours"? You've restricted my access to the lounge for a year whilst others are causing trouble in the main section, so from where I'm sat no favours have come my way regardless of circumstance so I don't really care if I pull you up on double standards.

Jeremy, here's my point. I was put in the Lounge for negative opinions and constantly taking threads off topic. The same happens on a daily basis in the main section, the aforementioned thread being a prime example. Not only that, but a specific member of the forum has been targeted for this 'piss-taking', which may or may not be taken on the chin as a joke. If I did the same thing I would have been banned from the forum, simple as that. Can you not see the double standards here?

I think it means that the screechy "AN OPEN LETTER TO ADMIN" with its passive-aggressive content and general stop-what-you-are-doing-and-look-at-me-because-I-have-something-terribly-important-to-say feel is unlikely to get results.

Galileo made daft comments.. He suggested The Earth went around the Sun.. and was convicted of Heresy..

One should not critisise what you can't understand..

DulwichFox

Hey Louisa , why don't you start your own forum?

Maybe not allow 'blow-ins' 'snobs' and 'Yummy mummys' in and ban anyone who 'bullies'* you or foxy too? Only propa old school SE22 salt of the earths.....

*that is people picking up others on massive inconsistencies or gross stereotyping

The Fox does not need to be narcissistic... People just keep talking about Him.. ;-)

I take it as a sign of affection.. What would you do without him... and Louisa.. ?

Foxy

Be careful what you wish for quids. I may just do that. Loufoxit would have a negative affect on the forum and could potentially lead to its collapse as a viable local resource. Anyway, didn't you flounce off for a while because you felt the forum had gone downhill? You were lurking around for months without posting. Attention seeking works both ways you know. Without the likes of me and foxy this forum would become very dull. Admin knows this, that's why I've only been confined to the lounge and not banished to the West Dulwich Forum.

    • The top front tooth has popped out.  Attempted to fix myself with repair kit bought from Boots, unfortunately it didn’t last long.  Tooth has popped out again.  Unable to get to dentist as housebound but family member can drop off.  I tried dental practice I found online, which is near Goose Green, but the number is disconnected.   The new dental practice in FH (where Barclays used to be) said it’s not something they do.  Seen a mobile dental practice where a technician comes to your home and does the repair but I’m worried about the cost. Any suggestions please? Thank you
    • So its OK for Starmer to earn £74K/annum by renting out a property, cat calling the kettle black....... Their gravy train trundles on. When the Southport story that involves Starmer finally comes out, he's going to be gone, plus that and the local elections in May 2025 when Liebour will get a drumming. Even his own MP's have had enough of the mess they've made of things in the first three months of being in power. They had fourteen years to plan for this, what a mess they've created so quickly, couldn't plan there way out of a paper bag.   Suggest you do the sums, the minimum wage won't  be so minimum when it is introduced, that and the increase in employers national insurance contributions is why so many employers are talking about reducing their cohort of employees and closing shops and businesses.  Businesses don't run at a loss and when they do they close, its the only option for them, you can only absorb a loss for so long before brining the shutters down and closing the doors. Some people are so blinkered they think the sun shines out of the three stooges, you need to wake up soon. Because wait till there are food shortages, no bread or fresh vegetables, nor meat in the shops, bare shelves in the supermarkets because the farmers will make it happen, plus prices spiralling out of control as a result of a supply and demand market. Every ones going to get on the gravy train and put their prices up, It happened before during lockdown, nothing to stop it happening again. You don't shoot the hand that feeds you. Then you'll see people getting angry and an uprising start to happen.  Hungry people become angry people very quickly.
    • Eh? Straight ahead of what?  If you turn left at Goose Green, as you also posted above, you end up at the library. Then the Grove. Then, unless you turn right at the South Circular, you end up at Forest Hill!
    • yes I’ve spotted this too — it’s near me and I’m very intrigued to see what it’ll be 👀👀👀👀
