Mick Mac
He was to rugby what Dan Maskell was to tennis and Peter Allis is to golf. He was one of a great tradition of BBC commentators who were the very best. Everyone who has been a fan of the 5/6 nations over the last 30 years or so will miss him and the ease with which his commentary came across. He always liked to mention a player's home club when one made his 6 nations debut, no doubt raising a big cheer in the players rugby club back home, which was a nice touch. Vary sad. Ann
Haven't seen the news today but even I've heard of him and didn't realise he had died. Was it unexpected? Atila Reincarnate
His voice conjures up boyhood memories of listening to his commentary of games on the BBC back in the day. RIP big man.
