maxxi
Soup in various brass instruments surely? A trumpet of tomato and shame, a french horn onion fiasco or merely a euphonium of courgette and cabbage (stand well clear at the back - ah-thankyou!) Louisa
A duck curry served in a plastic Disney 'Donald Duck' kids bowl. A street food van that serves its food on the street, literally. A Venezuelan braised goat & aubergine wrap chucked on the pavement and you have to ironically get down on the hands and knees to enjoy. Louisa. Louisa
Jeremy, the best thing about a Beefeater is the voucher codes option (similar to pizza express). They often provide 25/30% off food bill codes online, can make it quite affordable. And they do a value daytime menu with a few courses for under a tenner etc. But overall I agree, it's not amazing. Otta
I stayed at a hotel in Birmingham recently with a beefeater attached. Breakfasts were pretty good, but the main menu was worse than wetherspoons and way way more expensive. Otta
I admit that at home I always slide pizza out of the oven on to a wooden chopping board. I slice at and put it on the table. It tastes good, but it feels like someone really wants people to know how clever they are in the kitchen. Not for me. But then each to their own.Having initially been unsure, I came to like the previous incarnation. This new one is expensive and flashy, and will probably do very well in the gentrification of Brockley. The owner is completely bonkers, so I hope she's learned from the mass walk-out of her previous staff.
