KidKruger
Your favourite can obviously change daily, today my fave is:"Visions of Johanna"WHY ? Seems in a class or style of it's own for the time it was issued, perhaps at that time it sounded like what was to come (part of what was to come) in popular music. Sung with confidence, like a strong poem, never seems to tire no matter how many times you play it. Also something quite sensual about it. david_carnell
The apocryphal tale is that Dylan wrote Mozambique purely to see how words he could get to rhyme with "Mozambique". Fortunately he soon gave up the idea and just wrote a great song instead. The Live 1975 album has a great big band version. MrBen
Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn). A nod to the country folk of the early 1900's and 30 years before bands like Primal Scream nicked it. giggirl
Favourite Dylan song constantly changes but today I am thinking:All Over Now Baby Blue (adore the Bryan Ferry version)One More Cup of CoffeeYou Belong to Me (always brings a tear)Just Like a WomanCovenant WEomanSimple Twist of FateWhat Can I Do For you?Oh heck, did I have to pick just one? Can't do that. I don't rate him as a singer though and his gigs are very dull. KidKruger
giggirl - sometimes you just have to pick whatever is today's fave ! And yeah I agree his gigs are worse than watching paint dry, nearer LISTENIN to paint dry in fact. Been to a few and just not worth it for me.So let's concentrate on his songs as it's a more positive experience !!Been playing some today and today my fave is 'Obviously 5 Believers', if ever a guy got the blues and did something with it in his own way it was Zimmy.
