I'm looking for a dance class for my 4 year old. We have given up ballet as it didn't really suit her, some kind of free movement/ street dance is what I'm looking for. I know the ballet schools in Dulwich Village do such classes but I don't have transport and so would prefer SE22 or SE15. She did Diddi Dance which she loved but she is now too old for that. Thanks.

Hi Jean,

I run a Street Dance Class called Dizzy Rascalz at the Coppleston Centre on a Wednesday afternoon at 4pm for children aged 4 thru to 11 (we run 2 classes back to back) the kids really love this class, and the teacher is great, they learn routines from High School Musical, Dizzy Rascal, and have just learnt the routine to Thriller.

The class did a little dance show at Dulwich Park Christmas fair in December which they loved. Please come for a free trial and see what you think and if you decide to join up its only 5.00 a session. Really look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions please contact me on whataboutnetty@yahoo.co.uk.

Netty100, this class sounds fun, and I'm sure my older daughter (age 5) would like to do this. But I've also got a younger child (2) so my question is, what do people do about younger siblings if the older one wants to go to an after-school class? Do the parents/childminders stay and watch, and if so, is there somewhere for the younger ones to play? Or do the carers go off for an hour (or however long it is) with the little ones in tow?

I'm a bit new to after-school classes - it seemed simpler when all our local activities were just aimed at 'under-fives' and both kids could go along at the same time.

    • You may have more success posting on ED facebook….personally, not a fan  of social media but where I have moved to in the country, this seems to be the main way  of communication. A suggestion for you - well a couple actually - there is a cafe at the edge if Telegraph Hill which might be worth a shot with a pizza stand attached - from memory think it is called White Rabbit or something like that. Cafe has odd evenings when they have music  as well. Not sure if you are to young but give them a go. Get some leaflets/cards done and pop through letterbox or on car windscreen in local area offering your services to clean cars… sure you have done this already. Wish you all the best.
    • Thank you so much for this - really appreciate it.
