elliekp and kpc (and anyone else thinking of coming for the first time)

fear not, you'll have a great time and everyone is welcoming. The Black Cherry is quite a good venue for first timers as well as it's obvious who the EDF party is (at the back of the bar down in the hollow)

I'm at a friends birthday in Herne Hill that night but hope to show my face for a little while

Soooo

Just to confirm " from 8.30, the seating area at the back is

reserved for us".

Am I correct in assuming thats still the case, rather than,

" Meet from 8.30 .We will have the seating area at the back reserved for us again ".

I'm getting mixed messages here Georgia

I mean, come on which one is it ?

    • Focussing on the OP immediately shifts the focus of the post from the antisocial, thieving git that the OP wants to vent about to a discussion about casual racism and in my mind, it's the shoplifter who should be the focus of this thread even though she is unidentifiable.  It's all just venting on here in the end.
    • Bloody hell, this is exciting. I take back everything I said about Archer!
    • The Caring, Sharing Co-op, as was: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/jul/12/co-op-brighton-shop-owners-fight-against-eviction#img-1    This is well off-topic I know: but it’s a story about a woman who has quite literally had her shop lifted by the Co-op.
    • It would aid police - particularly if it establishes that the shoplifter is a habitual offender. That aside , the £200 threshold just means the offender can carry on regardless until trespassed. Trespassing the perp is the only meaningful method the control the crime and it is incumbent on us all the assist the shop owner and the police to identify the person.
