new front door Crown joinery

We have just had our front door replaced by Crown Joinery and are extremely happy with the service and product. The whole process was hassle-free from measuring to completion, and we were kept up-to-date throughout, including photos of the door as it was being made.

Alex and his crew replaced the door and all surrounds: new architrave, jambs & fittings and we now have a double-glazed fanlight with house number etched on it. The finished product is excellent: a Victorian style heavy purpose-made hardwood door on four hinges and two very sturdy locks (double cylinder deadbolt & spring-bolt; one key); the lock staples are bolted in to the masonry. The joinery throughout is superb and the paint finish flawless for the door (undercoated and several further coats), jambs, architrave and sill (latter painted the same colour as the door). We have a ?hood? over the letterbox on the inside for additional security. They even took the trouble to remove an old interior telephone junction box, paint it, move it and hide the wires behind the architrave. The fitting took a day.

It?s not often you get something better than you were hoping for and we would recommend Crown Joinery unreservedly. They are clearly enthusiastic about doors and have the joinery and carpentry skills to produce and install a great product.

The overall sentiment appears to be very negative  Also, has anyone a positive experience of an Education Advocate similar to the one advertising here?   what’s the point of an Education Advocate if the school either has no resource or a poor culture when it comes to SEN support for the kids? An EA can’t change that
    • I contacted Paul after seeing a recommendation here on the ED Forum. He got back to me really quickly,  Paul was talked us through the work needed and was very efficient. We will be using him again as our go to and would not hesitate to recommend him.
