annaj
Hello, what happened to my post (and one of Charliecharlie's and one of dazie's) on the drinks thread this morning? Sinister, shadowy moderator types up to no good? Or did my post accidental invoke satan if you read it backwards? pearl1
Please can you help? I want to change my username or re-register with a new one. I've just found out my boss reads the forum........When I try to register a new user name I get a message that says this email account is already registered to a user ie. me. Does this mean only one person from each email address can use the forum? How can I get a new username without changing my email address? Peckhamgatecrasher
I can't edit my post on the Orchid thread (simply want to expound on what looks like a vulgar outburst).I've tested it on the song game thread and that's working. When I press post on this thread I guess I'll know if this one works.Any reason, or have I been banned from that thread? Peckhamgatecrasher
Well this is just weird, it's obviously working here. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/938-ask-admin/page/7/#findComment-246707 Share on other sites
mockney piers
There is no thread Level banning available so well just have to put it down to gremlins I reckon. RosieH
Does something good happen when you add a forumite to your buddies list? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/938-ask-admin/page/7/#findComment-247485 Share on other sites
Administrator Administrator Posted September 14, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 14, 2009 I still have no idea what that feature does, maybe you can PM all your buddies at once. Whatever happens it is not going to be bad but let us know if you find out. Keef
I think it is simply an address book, so you can tick loads of people on your list and send them all a joint PM without having to mess around. That is what I use it for anyway. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/938-ask-admin/page/7/#findComment-247681 Share on other sites
RosieH
Ah ok - I didn't want to put anyone in there in case it was like Facebook and I buddied them and they didn't buddy me back, and then, oh the embarrassment and I'd never be able to post again. silverfox
Where has Bigbadwolf's post about 'The best way to murder someone' gone?Is it in the process of being moved to The Drawing Room? Administrator Administrator Posted September 28, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 28, 2009 It was removed because I do not want a post about the best way to murder someone on the forum. I do not do that very often, hardly ever in fact, and sorry it meant that your post was removed. silverfox
I realise it was in bad taste and could have quickly beome offensive. It was hardly a serious Capital Punishment debate. Keef
Personally I didn't think it was all that bad. Not in the best of taste perhaps, but nothing serious or sinister about it. We've got a "who's face would you like to slap" thread, is it really so different? No great loss either way I guess. Administrator Administrator Posted September 28, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 28, 2009 A jokey thread about who you would like to slap is different to thread that actually tells you how best to murder someone. I do not want the latter on the forum. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/938-ask-admin/page/7/#findComment-252885 Share on other sites
sophiesofa
Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to have a message that comes up when you start a new thread that asks if the poster is definitely posting in the right section with a brief run down of what each section is for? It might be impossible but I thought it was worth suggesting. Thank you Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/938-ask-admin/page/7/#findComment-258373 Share on other sites
Administrator Administrator Posted October 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted October 13, 2009 Hi sophiesofa, that would be a great feature as people posting messages posting in the wrong section is too common, unfortunately it is not possible unless we get someone to programme the feature for us. It is on out list of "nice to haves" for the forum and hopefully we could work something out one day. silverfox
Dear admin,I've no problem with you amending the wording of my thread about the N-word in the drawing room if some people are finding it offensive (and perhaps being deterred from reading it). However could you please re-insert the word 'necessarily' as I think the sense has now been changed. As it stands it implies I'm questioning whether it is racist at all. If the amended wording were to read 'Is the N-word necessarily racist' it keeps my original sense of accepting it is racist but not (necessarily) always. reetpetite
There seems to be a lot of repeated 'self' promotions and recommendations in the Business section lately. Is this not against the rules ?
