Hello Admin,


There appears to be a problem with the Word Assn. thread (Lounge)...when I add a word, either it doesn't show up at all or, if it shows up on the thread...my post does not show up as "last post" on the list of threads. Or worse, it shows up later (and therefore out of order). Weird! It's been a problem since about Saturday...could it be it is because the thread is so vast?

I'm having a similar prob with other posts where it loads to a blank screen so I refresh for it to say it's already been added but the thread doesn't move up the list or read as a new reply. When you click on the thread itself then you can see there's new responses...

yes...that's exactly the problem...only you've explained it far better than I did KK and with less words too!

Sorry Admin. but the point is that it's not OK at the moment...as KK very succinctly puts it...

So, the true position of last post at 7:08pm by Ladymuck contrasts with what is noted as last post on the thread list (6:44pm by red devil).

Oh, and while I'm here (sorry Admin.)...but...(*laughs*)...please could you tell me why three of my threads were recently removed from the wanted section? I am not too bothered as they were removed after lots of lovely forumites had come to the rescue with their suggestions etc. However, it would have been nice if the threads had remained merely because they contained final messages of thanks to all the forumites who had taken time to respond. Now I don't know whether they caught them in time, but if they didn't, they must think me an ungrateful old cow!

If titles in that section say things like "now sold" or "no longer required" or similar then they are removed, it just clears the space to be used by live and valid wanted items rather than expired ones. I believe yours said "NOW SORTED" so it was taken off, sorry if it caused an issue.

Keef speaks the truth, it is probably a case of starting a new one if it is not working properly as there is nothing we can do behind the scenes. If you do start a new one then the old one will be locked down because the annoyance of having more than one word association thread would be too much to bear.

Go on KK...start a new one...it's your creation so it should be you who starts the new one...I'm addicted, by the way!

You are "much disliked for starting such a thread"? Well I find that hard to believe - not by Admin, surely? Furthermore, Admin's post 3 posts previous to this one suggests a new thread might be permitted.


Your thread helps keep the likes of me quiet, assists against the onset of senile dementia, does not lead to pages of whinging, argument or bitching, is inoffensive, and will rarely (if ever) require Admin to intervene (so less work for Admin) etc. etc. But above all...it's fun and completely inclusive. Moreover, it is a huge success. "Much disliked"? Ummm, I don't know about that!


Dear Mark (of admin): please could you reassure our dear KalamityKel that you've no objection to her starting a WA thread Part 2. A Part 2 would, in all probability, resolve the current "loading/updating/display" problems the current thread is experiencing (ironically, as a direct result of its very success). Besides, the more the time I am able to spend posting on that thread...means less time spent creating my own brand of mischief elsewhere...reason enough I would have thought! (*winks cheekily at Mark of Admin*).

No, KK I don't realise that at all. You know, (ahem...and I speak with experience here) you are never going to be able to please all of the people all of the time. Your WA thread pleases most of the people most of the time...and I think you are just going to have to accept that. Personally, I think your thread is a huge success...hence the loading/display problems which, ironically, are symptoms of that success. Admin have indicated that you may start a new thread:

I can't see any that have been 'deleted' by admin on that thread.


Three possibilities spring to mind, one of the admins accidentally hit the 'delete' button (we don't ever do that as a rule we just make them invisible to mortals for moments like this), it didn't post because there was a blocked word (we used to have this problem with specialist because it contained the word cial!s), or there was one of them there t'interweb hiccups that just happens every now and then.


Go ahead and give it another go and sorry for any inconvenience.
