Qualified Computer Technican

Can anybody recommend a computer technician who is qualified and will be able to sort out the sound on my Microsoft desktop. I'm running Windows 7 and for some inexplicable reason the sound no longer works. I've contacted a few off the internet who are supposedly local but will charge ?50 just for the call out and then another ?25 per hour or part thereof. It's probably a 5 minute job for somebody in the 'know' but happy to pay cash in hand to make it worth their while.
