Thanks for letting us know, we don't know about a lot of these problems unless we're told, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused

Please could you try and answer any of these:

Where do you mean exactly when you say the main forum?

Do you know what time it was? Roughly?

What happens when you try and post?

Do you get an error message?

How are you trying to post? Are you clicking the reply button or are you filling in the box at the bottom of the page?

Are you pressing post message and nothing happens?

Are there no buttons that allow you to post?

Is the word special-ised (without the -) in your post?

The more details the better then I can get someone to look into it

Once again thanks and sorry

c i a l i s is a cheap alternative to viagra and a mainstay of spambots who target forums like this one.

The first line of defence is that you have to be registered to post, the second line is antispam software that blocks posts that it thinks will be spam.

Unfortunately like the infamous Scunthorpe council email filter, there can be side-effects.

Sorry, that was my fault. Because there were so many people posting the message "bump" to bump their messages up the list and I have a dislike of messages without content in that section I put a ban on the word "bump" last week and forgot to tell people, especially the moderators. Your message had the word "bumper" in it so it was being disallowed. I have lifted the ban so you can post the message now, sorry for the inconvenience and I will just return to deleting messages the just say "bump".

Some of the new posts I tried to post might have said something like "I'm bumping this thread because ....." eg it's on soon or whatever.

But I don't think they all did.

And that wouldn't explain why I couldn't edit an existing post :-S

In one case I had to start a completely new thread as I couldn't add or change anything at all on the original one - and that obviously just clogs up the forum and causes confusion :-S

I get this every so often - and had it as recently as last week when I tried to bump somthing

I think I realised fairly quickly that it was the word "bump" which cause the problem - I re-worded the post and tried again, which worked first time

I would recommend that anyone with this problem reviews their post and looks for word which MIGHT contain something which may flag a filter. Admin said recently that he had included the word bump in the filter as so many people had used it unnecessarily which not everyone may have seen.. but the word stood out when I reviewed my own post.

At least if anyone posts from Scunthorpe and has problems we will know why

I am again having problems - I need to put an urgent post on the Hoopers folk night thread, as the timings have changed, and when I click on "post message" I get a page saying "we can't find the web page you are looking for".

The text is as follows - no obvious "bad words" :-S

Please note - there is a change in the timings for this evening as Bulgakov have asked that they sing at 8pm as they are now going down to Glastonbury straight afterwards.

So if you want to see Bulgakov, please be sure that you come down at 8pm.

Sorry for any inconvenience, which was out of the Goose's control :-S

    • Depends on who can afford to purchase or lease it and what The Dulwich Estate, Stonegate and Southwark Council will allow to be built or operate on the site. Whatever it is, it needs to attract footfall for itself and businesses around it. The question to ask is what does that part of Dulwich need, that is not within the locality, which will attract custom and footfall, that the site can accommodate and that can offer parking which it already has available. In between Cox's Walk, Dulwich Village, Dulwich College and the park, some sort of establishment that sells drinks and meals. Bit then I'm just chucking ideas around, or maybe someone, Dean, has some radical idea's to take it in a totally different direction.    Whatever it becomes it has to be better than the rotting site and eyesore it currently is. Good luck to anyone who takes on the project to redevelop the former Grove Tavern.
    • Some of the problems with the drains are down to the council I think. There was a small lake on the northern side of goose green this morning (probably not a bad thing as it might float some of the dog waste out of the park into the drains eventually).  anyway, I saw it resolved by some bloke clearing the leaves on a drain in East Dulwich Road north (at least the bit in the road drained away and stopped flooding the park further). If the council cleared the leaves and streets more than once every three months these problems would happen less. There's plenty of surplus revenue from the roads so I dont understand why the council can't keep them clean.
    • Hi all,  We recently had the front badge stolen from our VW Golf, the car sensor is kept behind the badge and was also stolen. This was two weeks ago and since then have noticed other VWs around ED had also had the same issue, a badge and sensor stolen.  We've been quoted over £1000 from our local VW garage to replace these.  I am aware this has been going on for some time in South London generally (https://www.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/may/04/vw-cars-parts-theft-cruise-control-sensors-insurance-golf-passat), which leads me to think... a.) It's VWs issue for this terrible design fault so why should we pay b.) If we do get a new sensor and badge the same thing will surely happen again, thus leading to further costs down the line I wonder if anyone else who had this issue is on the group? And how they dealt with VW? They are being very unhelpful and in our most recent correspondence said we 'should have kept the car in a garage' 🫠
    • The long empty site at the top of Lordship Lane by the Library is now a cute little bar and restaurant -  Victus and Bibo.  We had a few beers there on Saturday night and it was very welcoming.
