Ant
So - is it worth even trying? Have just checked Southern's website and they mention a line problem at London Bridge with delays of up to 35 mins. Anyone know if the buses are making it up Dog Kennel Hill OK? MrBen
Southern are running a Saturday timetable. A train currently broken down at Lon Bridge (730am) is causing further delays up to 35 mins. Not sure about buses yet.... Peckham native
Got the 7:03 into London Bridge this morning which was on time. Noticed the 7:14 was going to be late. Saw a couple of buses on Grove Vale so I guess they were getting up Dog Kennel Hill, the main roads seemed clear. ratty
Roads are pretty clear - looks like there has been a big thaw! ED to Lewisham in 9 mins this morning! Rook
I went to Peckham Rye. Few delays and cancellations to London Bridge but fairly normal service then! Got in fine....buses seem ok too, main roads are clear. Go for it. Moos
The revised service seems to be running on time now, and the path up to ED platform has been cleared of snow, so well done Barry and team.I appreciate that snow-clearing resources may be needed more urgently elsewhere, but if more bad weather is expected or would be good if the platform itself could be cleared while the snow is soft and comparatively easy to get rid of. ratty
Just a word about the council who were getting slagged off yesterday. Three workmen in my back road (abbotswood) this morning at about 7:30 shovelling snow and ice from the path and making it safe for little old me! Thanks dudes! Ant
Took the bus in. Roads clear all the way. Don't know what I was worried about. Smoothest commute in a long time. :)(Course by saying this I may have jinxed my trip home.) v_the_gelfling
No problems with rail at all for me this morning, which was weird as my train was cancelled yesterday morning when there was less snow! Applespider
Was very pleasantly surprised to find everything moving this morning - I'm currently sat on a train whizzing up the East Coast mainline which is remarkably scenic with a dusting of snow. And so far (fingers crossed), we're bang on time! I'm guessing that the overnight snow that I was expecting to cause problems fell earlier!
