I think you are talking about the gangs of Bretons that would cycle selling onions and garlic. There is a wonderful museum to 'Johnny Onion's in Roscoff, well worth a visit and you can indulge yourself in Breton music whilst you are at it. Although I thought the French onion sellers died out in the 50s -
My memory must be so rubbish! I don't remember Prime Time, but looking at that picture I don't know how I could have missed it! -
