How to buy tickets for football match, crystal palace

Recommended Posts

Hi eveyone,

I have recently outed myself as a non football fan,

but as we have friends coming from abroad l am trying to be helpful.

As we can't watch a saturday afternoon match on TV, they wanted to go and watch it live.

I wanted to buy them two tickets for next crystal palace match in selhurst stadium, but tickets cost either ?50 or around ?15 for members. Right?

Is it really so expensive as a non-member or are there any other options?

Please enlighten me.

Tickets at CPFC normally cost ?35 and upwards

For league matches, tickets go to members first and can sell out before going on general sale. If there is a discount for members it's nominal.

This Saturday is an FA Cup game against Stoke and tickets are available for ?15.00 as demand is generally lower for cup games.

Hamlet is a tenner to get in and is great. It might well be raining this weekend though, and there isn't much cover there, so you and your friends may get wet.

1. Dulwich Hamlet

2. Hang around schools, particularly those in Croydon, as Palace often give tickets to primary schools (no don't!)

3. Hang around Palace on match day, there are often dodgy geezers with cheap tickets or people with spares

4. Dulwich Hamlet

There are no Premier League matches this Saturday, only FA Cup. The next round of PL matches is on Tuesday/Wednesday evening, and Arsenal, West Ham and Palace are at home, (also Watford, which is easy to get to from London). If they are very keen to go you need to check with both the home and away clubs - probably easiest just to call the ticket office and ask if there are any available for general sale. I wouldn't be that hopeful though - your best bet might be trying to get tickets for the away end for West Ham v Aston Villa as (i) it's a Tuesday night (ii) it's a schlep from Birmingham to East London (iii) it's live on BT Sport and (iv) Villa are shit and are odds on to get stuffed. However, if you're in the away end at Upton Park you're going to get abuse from a load of sweaty, sweary Hammers fans, but that just makes the experience more 'real'.

Alternatively, just pop into the 'Football Focus' thread on here...

The work was done to an exceptionally high standard (included plumbing, tiling, electrics and decorating) and the team were very friendly and tidy. They will definitely be my first call for any future building works. Thanks again!
