icicle
Does anyone know who's camper van that is that's been parked outside Beauty Plus on Forest Hill Road for at least the last 4 months? Wouldn't really matter if it was in a residential road but it's taking up parking space for shoppers and also people who need to use the surgery opposite. It's got lots of animal stencils on the back, can't miss it really. Salsaboy
If it is taxed, insured and legally parked, nothing you can do about it. Drxyster
I thought the parking area in this part of the FHR had a two hour parking limit. DulwichFox
I think that if this vehicle was in anyway parked illegally there would of been 1/2 dozen Parking Wardens waiting to slap a ticket on it the second any time limit had expired. Periscope cars. The lot. Siduhe
It's been there since just after Christmas - prior to that it was located about 300 yards up the road, not in controlled parking like it is now. It has CZ plates from memory. It is a bit of pain being parked near the junction as the buses have to pull out a bit to go round it. I also don't understand why it isn't being ticketed as it seems pretty clearly in the area where you only have a certain time to park. Maybe the owner has left a note on it? Earl Aelfheah
There are two 'advert cars' which have been dumped on the road outside Goose green playground for a very long time. Both have flat tyres and adverts covering the windows. Fairly sure they can't be MOT'd. Ironically, one of them is advertising rubbish and removals. Earl Aelfheah
It's actually been there so long, it appears on Streetview: Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/91498-van-taking-up-parking-spaces-in-shopping-parade/#findComment-953542 Share on other sites

Lazero
The rubbish and removals one has now disappeared (unless it's been put back since this morning). Maybe the owner has moved it on elsewhere, as surely it's reached the point where no new people were seeing the ad. Mrs Y
It belongs to the people who own the flat above Beauty Plus. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/91498-van-taking-up-parking-spaces-in-shopping-parade/#findComment-954255 Share on other sites
Lynne
I wish someone would move the blue camper van in Worlingham Rd that's been unmoved since last summer. I know it's legal, but it's still a pain Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/91498-van-taking-up-parking-spaces-in-shopping-parade/#findComment-954448 Share on other sites
KestonKid
We reported the East Dulwich Road advertising vehicles to Southwark a year or more ago. No reply as yet. Time to return to the charge. KestonKid
Southwark told me this morning that unless these vehicles are in a CPZ it's not their problem. I have emailed the Mayor's office to ask for advice. I suspect though that, under current traffic laws, unless the vehicles are untaxed or uninsured they probably cannot be removed. Tough on parents taking their kids to the playground or doing some shopping, but there we are. rabbitears
The registration of the "cash paid for scrap" Vauxhall Astra on East Dulwich Rd is Y137 NGY. It is insured but not MOTd per https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.ukSo...it should be towable by the council or dvla, right? Drxyster
I am given to understand that the insurance on a vehicle is invalid without a current MOT.Is this not correct? Blah Blah
I think no MOT is just a fine, not grounds for towing. But as someone has just posted that it is owned by someone living nearby, why not have a chat with them? This ploy to try and get their vehicle taken from them just because they are parked (legally) somewhere someone isn't happy with, is wrong. rabbitears
No MOT can be towed away by dvla. Abandoned cars can be towed away by council. The car hasn't moved in months. It's untaxed. Cars with the same stickers are in other places in Peckham and nunhead. Eff em. Blah Blah
If it's untaxed then that's different. It probably needs repairs to be moved.
