lavender27
Open front doors, where things were relaxed and you could walk in and say hello to your friends and neighbours. No trust anymore.Going to find your friends wherever they were, at home or in the park, without having to use a phone.True friendshipConversation Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90676-whatever-happened-to/page/5/#findComment-1034234 Share on other sites
malumbu
Why do you want to go into peoples houses? Surely much better texting, snapchatting, Facebooking or whatever. I am being ironic. ????
Drinking alone again Steveo? You should have got Jah round for a meeting- in the 80s it would have been back from the pub at closing then wine out of tea mugs until the boozers reopened at 5.30pm or invited into a directors office for a 'large one' from the director's drinks cabinet. Nowadays tedious time passing and clockwatching (i don't think many are working)....but at least we get 'dress down' Friday eh.... lavender27
Malumbu - back in the day, we used to go straight into our friends homes it was a good thing and we were always made to feel welcome or plonk ourselves down and say who wants a cuppa and there was lots of laughter. On facebook and twitter nowadays who's to know if you were dead or not. Alan Medic
Where I grew up even the dogs had surnames. Judy Kilemade, Spot Higgins, Ringo Quinn, Rusty Branagan. They were able to wander wherever they wanted. Alan Medic
Our fellow lived at home unless a bitch was in heat. He then dissapeared for a week and eventually returned to sleep for a week.
