I?ve been using the laptop up until last week for 3D Animation, video editing and photoshop work. It can still handle all the latest software, play HD movies and browse the web just fine so you shouldn?t have any problems.

Problems:

I do like to be totally upfront with issues when I?m selling anything:

DVD Not working - The DVD drive stopped working around 2 years ago, I?ve been quoted around ?40 for a new one to be fitted but for me it wasn?t a issue, it?s been years since I?ve wanted to use a DVD in my laptop and the new Apple MacBooks don?t even include a DVD drive.

Battery Life - The battery again is slightly showing its age, I can get around 1-2 hrs charge out of it currently, depending on what I?m doing, which is down from the 3-4 hrs I used to get when it was new. Again, if it?s a issue later on batteries are available on eBay for a small sum.

Charger cable worn - The charger cables on this model are notorious for getting damaged on the end where the cable bends and this one is no different unfortunately. It is taped up at the moment and still works fine, but they do sell them for around ?20 on eBay if you want to purchase a new one in the future.

Apart from these issues, which are all very common in this model of this age, it is in great condition. Always been kept in a case when travelling, no marks or scratches, all the keys working correctly and no dead pixels on the screen. It?s still plenty fast enough to keep up with HD video editing, photoshop editing or just normal browsing and watching films on it?s giant screen!

Viewings, testing and collection from my office, very close to Shoreditch High Street Station, any week day from 9:00am - 7pm or from my house in Forest Hill 7pm-9pm. Cash on collection. Price ?500, couldn?t find one on eBay for lower.

Hi David, having researched all the statistics, it sounds like you have a mid 2010 model. You've said that the DVD drive no longer works and that you've been heavily using it for animation/photo editing. This all suggests that you're starting to have trouble with the graphics card (it happened to me)2010 MacBooks with 512 Nvidia graphics cards are notorious for having problems. You can have the graphics card replaced, but that's likely to cost well over ?100. I'd be happy to offer you ?350 for it, that's in the knowledge that the graphics card will soon need replacing. Thanks, Will.

Hey Will, Yep I think this was a 2010 model but I haven't been having any issues with the graphics card, in the first year of me owning it there was a issue with the fan on the graphics card, however this was repaired and replaced under apple warranty at the store in Covent Garden, haven't had another problem with it in the last 4 years. I'm still looking for close to ?500 for it, this particular spec usually sells around ?600-700 on eBay.

Please also note the laptop is sold with a brand new OS X install so it's fresh for the buyer to use, there's no animation software included.
