snorky
The last thing we need is an expansion of religious centres in the area, seeing as its all made up rubbish anyway - this is the 21st century, no the dark ages* I realise this will be deleted, but I have to say it *:-( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90-116-lordhip-lane/page/3/#findComment-1855 Share on other sites

Guest
The British don't worship God anymore. Actually, no I'm sorry, they do worship something: it happens to be money & commerce, and maybe the phenomenon called celebrity... dulwichmum
Boys, boys, boys, you are so superficial, the lot of you. I love the local churches, and frequent the lot of them. I would hate Father O'Connor to find out I was hanging out with the protestants, so I go to him at St. Thomas Moore, and I love and respect the vicar Diana at St Barnabus - so I am to be found there too.I worship enough for the lot of you - so worry not, I have covered all the bases, and will get us all into heaven! Huguenot
That sounds glorious! Can I be high priest?I hereby renounce the idea of a secular state and propose the elevation of a blobwivwadocracy. How cursed we were before this moment of revelation, this epiphany, this... etc. etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90-116-lordhip-lane/page/3/#findComment-1876 Share on other sites
dulwichmum
Hurrah! I shall worship there too, although Burberry is so last year! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90-116-lordhip-lane/page/3/#findComment-1877 Share on other sites
James
I would worship at the altar of a new M&S. How about a mixed use development of a Mosque with a gay bar, a vegetarian deli and a carvery in each of its miniarets? Thus encouraging communities to mix with each other? PS. I agree with Snorky too. Has the world gone mad? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90-116-lordhip-lane/page/3/#findComment-1883 Share on other sites
mockney piers
After the miranets come the miniarets. Is that a foxton's mini that can't be moved because it's had it's tires nicked and been put on bricks while the estate agent was busy selling a ?750,000 broom cupboard as being 'perfect for a professional couple' because the bathroom was the size of a newborn tortoise perchance?I'll go get some air shall I? Guest
Whilst not disagreeing with you that a lot of the stuff sold at the Northcross Road market is "tat" (most markets though specialize in "tat" outlets - it is part of theri charm), I must rush to defend the quality of the cake(s) sold there. The cheesecake in particular is better than anything sold in local shops, chains or otherwise, and the chocolate cake is to die for.And the relatively recent arrival of the English Cheese van (Fridays only) is a boon for those of us who suffer vertigo trying to mount the step outside "The Cheeseblock"... Keef
To be fair, I've only tried the carrot cake, and my own better half can throw something better together in half hour. I'm lucky ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/90-116-lordhip-lane/page/3/#findComment-2096 Share on other sites
