Is his father a gardener?

Hi to all on here. Again just to let you all know that I am not this plumber as you can see his name is Daniel and my name is Rick Foster. And I run a co called Rickplumb247.com so please don't get us mixed up. Thank you all.just in case you need a good plumber my no. 07860633220.

I echo the comments re avoiding Rick 'the cowboy' plumber whose number is 07721060037. What a joke.

He does not turn up when he says he will, doesn't even call to say sorry. Do not pay him a deposit up front - he will promise to refund you, which takes weeks of chasing, and then doesn't refund in full due to his admin fee.

If you look at other posts on the EDF there are many who seem to have had similar experiences.

I have heard back from the Gas Safe Register and they have no record of Daniel Ebrahimy or Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd. Having the Gas Safety Register logo on their website without authorisation is not permitted. They are investigating this further.

I would urge that you get in touch with the Gas Safety Register if he or Dean have done any work on your gas boilers.

Another victim of Rick 'the cowboy' plumber here sadly. And to make matters worse we had to get a further plumbing problem fixed and mistakenly transferred the payment (?150!) to Rick's account. Promise after promise he made to refund the money that he admitted was not his and there is still no sign of it. We've been waiting for 4 months and chasing every week! Absolutely outrageous. A genuine mistake on our part. A dishonest and untrustworthy character who I hope I never have the misfortune of crossing again.

At all costs avoid Rick 'the plumber' on 07721060037.

Can I please make it clear that the plumber that you are talking about is not myself. My name is also Rick and I am a plumber working in this area for a lot of years. My name is Rick Foster and run a company called rickplumb247.com you can also call me on 07860633220. So please don't confuse me for this other plumber. Thanks.

I'd also like to share my story here.

This cowboy calls himself 'Rick' (number is 07721060037) but real name is Daniel Ebrahimy, and he works together with a guy called Dean but also showed up with his brother once.

My partner and I contacted him after seeing a number of positive reviews on the East Dulwich forum - investigating further, many reviews were from frist time posters plus some people also mentioned that he pushed them to write reviews in this forum.

Anyway, he turned up, did half the job, pushed for payment, sent multiple texts plus called just10 minutes after leaving our place, asking if we've transferred the money yet. Promised to come back to finish the job.

Since then he has cancelled on the follow up 3 times (we acntually had to ask if he will come, where to he charmingly replied "who is this, how can I help?" pretending not to know about any job at our place) and has left the bathroom in the state on the attached pictures.

We shouldn't have paid him before he finished, but obivously trusted him. Do not fall for this cowboy. I am quite sure there are other trustworthy tradesmen out there. What a pity that people like this "Rick" ruin this indutrie's reputation.

I had similar negative experiences of Rick aka Daniel (not Rickplumb247) last summer. Did a shocking job on my house, charged a fortune, had to get someone else to fix and though he promised to refund he never did. He even phoned me to ask if I had put a negative review on the forum and complain about it - I hadn't, but I should have done, was nervous of doing so given he knew where I lived.

Oh and he does push aggressively for positive reviews too. The disaster job was after a small job he did ok (although with hindsight charged an unreasonably high amount for - the next plumber I used would have charged me no more than half of what I paid him), and that time he phoned me minutes after he left the house to tell me exactly where his recommendation thread was so I could go online and review immediately.

Avoid at all costs, you'd have less stress taking your money straight out of the cashpoint and setting fire to it, at least your plumbing problems wouldn't be made any worse by that.

Roughly 3 weeks ago I found myself at about 10 p.m. with a gushing cistern which needed an emergency plumber. Following the recommendations on here, I telephoned Rick.

Rick responded promptly and arrived about 10.40 p.m. He apologised for having had a drink or two (which he obviously had had). He cured the leak and replaced the worn out valve with a new one. He did this and was gone within 40 minutes.

For this he charged ?250, which I paid since I did not, and still do not, know the going rate for an emergency plumber out of hours, but in any event when you have an emergency you are not in a position to negotiate.

Rick called me the next morning to see if he could come over to replace the internal stop cock. This certainly did need replacing but could not be until Thames Water had first done some work externally, as I explained. I asked Rick for an invoice, since I hoped that his charge could be reclaimed from my insurers. He said he would provide it.

He did not.

I chased him on 24th July. The next day he replied:

"Sorry having problems with my internet. Will do it today".

He did not.

On 26th July I suggested he post it to me. I had no reply. I resent this on 3rd August. His reply was "?".

On 4th August I pointed out that this delay in providing an invoice would not do his reputation any good. His reply

was:

"So sorry I'll do it tonight. I've just had my broadband installed this morning".

He did not.

On 8th August I chased him and his reply was:

"I promise today".

It did not arrive.

On 9th August I chased him. On 10th August he replied:

"Have writte (sic) it up. Will send soon".

He did not. I chased him on 11th August, by now out of patience and simply saying "time up". His reply on 11th August was:

"I'll do it tonight promise".

EDF readers may not by now be entirely surprised to know that he did not and that as I write this I had not had his invoice, and so face difficulties making a claim for his not-insubstantial charge.

These are the bare, simple facts. EDF readers must draw their own conclusions whether his original fee was reasonable or not, and whether his subsequent behaviour was reasonable or not, and whether they would wish to ask Rick to help them.

I would recommend a plumber called Garry, whose mobile is 07882 642799. I have asked Garry to change my stopcock.

Hello!

I'm new to this forum but just wanted to add my experience having stumbled upon this thread.

We called 'Rick' (07721 060037) based on a recommendation on this forum and had a very similar experience to many others here - young guy (late 20s/early 30s) who didn't turn up when he said he would two days running, charged an awful lot for 30 mins work and an unfinished job (investigating but not fixing a suspected leaking shower pipe) and left our shower in a mess with bits of jagged broken tile all over the floor. When I queried the high cost he said he would take it off the final total for finishing up the job if we got them to do it (!). We've not had much plumbing work done before so I wasn't that knowledgeable about how much we should have been charged, but researching it afterwards it was v steep for the work (half)done.

His surname was definitely Ebrahimy - he was working with his brother who I think was called Anthony. He claimed that our shower pipe was indeed leaking, but a damp-proofing specialist who visited a couple of days later queried this with a very raised eyebrow. We won't know the truth until we find another (non-dodgy!!) plumber to take a look. It's a shame, because the pair of them actually seemed quite nice...

*sigh*

unfortunately another East Dulwich resident with a bad experience of this scheister Rick / Danny character. Stumbled upon him from positive reviews elsewhere in the forum.

Please be wary and avoid at all costs!! Lots of honest tradesmen out there and Dave at McHow (http://www.mchow.co.uk/) helped us out.

We live and learn.

    • I definitely don't mean to put people off trying to rehome from rescue centres like Celia Hammond, it's a wonderful thing to do. I'm just perplexed that so few potential people or families I know including my own has been accepted. I understand that the cat has to match the adoptee because no two animals are the same but I'm not talking about a family with a young child being refused a nervous cat or an individual with no cat being refused a cat who will only thrive with company, I'm talking about blanket refusal for the reasons I've discussed. It's puzzling that you have never encountered people being refused for living on a road or not working from home as I have heard it from friends again and again.  As someone who volunteers at Celia Hammond could you expand further on what are the things that rule potential adoptees out? What are the criteria you have to meet? I know criteria will differ in some situations with certain cats with specific needs but it would be helpful to understand what the criteria are in general?
    • Hi all is anyone having difficulties with the Peckham sorting office?   I had a "Sorry we missed you card" on Monday 9th December.  On the parcel tracker it said that there was a failed delivery attempt on Saturday 7th December.   I went on line and booked a delivery to East Dulwich post office on office lane.  Anyways the parcel wasn't delivered there and each day I had an email stating that the parcel delivery attempt failed as it appeared that no one was in.   I called on Friday they said that no delivery had been attempted as they had no staff.  I went to the sorting office in Peckham on Saturday and the office was closed.  I called again and I was told there was a power failure so the office was closed.  However I could see lots of lights on and also lots of staff and vans there.  On Friday and. Saturday I was assured that I would be reunited with my parcel within 72 hours.  Well guess what I called again today and the manager from the Peckham sorting office has no said that Lordship Lane post office is now refusing to accept any parcels from the royal mail.     I have now redirected the parcel to the smaller post office in Forest Hill Road.  And I hope it arrives on Thursday to his week.  Does anyone have any knowledge about what is going on.  My complaint has me been escalated/but I doubt that will help. Any advice please.
    • Oh come on, DELUDED, really? And spreading false information, now that is out of order, perhaps you want to retract your comments, because I am neither deluded nor have I ever spread false information as you have said publicly about me.  Looking forward to reading your apology and retraction.
