Hi everyone,

Is this still happening? We have a small group playing Imperial Assault in Herne Hill and were looking to find a place where we could have a more regular session (we have been using our houses).

Hello,

Change of venue!! The Cherry Tree has been amazing! Highly, highly recommend the pub; delicious food, decent choice of beer, lovely people!

The new venue is the FC Wellbeing Cafe

The address is 28 Grove Vale, but the cafe is down the side of the building, 10/20m down Melbourne Grove.

?5 a head.

Bring your own food and drink! The cafe is closed, we're just utilising the space. So for the price of a pint, you can bring a four pack or a bottle of wine/tequila. Welcome to bring snacks/food or get a delivery there.

Cheers

Brad

Hola fellow gamers! Is this meet still occurring? I am the host of another gaming group that has been meeting up for about 5 years. We game on weekends in a big house at Canada Water.

We have a core group plus some folks that join occasionally, and frequently welcome new joiners. If gaming on a weekend in Canada Water with a group of video gaming, board gaming, professional worker guys might suit you, please do ping me to sort something out.

If this East Dulwich meetup is alive I will try to make it and especially if it is at the FC Wellbeing Cafe. Why? The place is 100% Gluten Free and as a coeliac, that is my favourite gluten free %! The big place we game in at Canada Water is my house and I serve more food than even hungry gamers can eat. FC Wellbeing Cafe might do even better though! :-)

Hey Ben,

Cool. Yep, it?s still very much going. Come along!

Glad you like the food at the cafe. It?s currently closed in the evenings - we just use the space and take our own food and drink in.

Cheers

Brad

Super! Lovely that the cafe owner enables this. I definitely do want to join you but cannot this week. Are you literally meeting every week? If I were to join next week, 03 May, what time do you begin and what game or games would be played? Do you plan games to play in advance?

Hey Ben,

Splendid. Yep, we meet every week. 19:45/20:00. ?5 per head for the venue. We decide what to play on the night, so just bring a few games you fancy playing that day.

Cheers

Standalone. You can come and play and not be faced with cliquey ?oh no, we?re in the middle of playing this long thing for the next 12 weeks? :-)

We play everything from light 20-min party games to heavy 4-hour+ euros, and all in between.

Come say hello and see what you think!

    • Interesting, because I am finding it next to impossible to get an appointment at Tessa Jowell.
    • Yes, I live Colyton/Dovedale area and lots of swifts usually.  I'd love a swift nesting box too.
    • There's always a large flock(?) over the area of back gardens surrounded by Colyton / Dovedale / Marmora / Scutari, but no idea if / where there are any nesting boxes. We'd love to have one, and often have swifts zooming close by, checking out possible sites.
    • I would have thought the cost of erecting X meters of metal barriers would be the same irrespective of location, plus given the issues with access now due to the "bunds", it would also be easier given the ample direct access the common provides? The reason I've heard from the organisers is that their footprint has been tailor made for that part of the park, so it's not possible to fit it anywhere else. Which is a ridiculous argument given that  they've already altered / extended it due to the space they've 'lost' from the "bunds". The reason I've heard from FOPR and others is that as the common is public land (or similar) it requires permission from the Home Secretary (or similar) due to ancient grazing rights or something. Oddly it doesn't seem to have affected the circus, the steam fair, the dog show etc etc etc Yes, the wide path where Parkrun starts & finishes will become a controlled crossing during the build, and completely closed off during the festival. Also, when I asked about the reason for the extended footprint onto the sports pitch, they said it was to replace lost space where the bunds are, which they used to store equipment. However, they were unable to explain where this storage area now was on the new plan... And when asked about the loss of the sports pitch due to the extension & access road, they said the council had assured them there were no matches booked for that period. But what about the kids, families, who play on them? No answer...
