suzplum
Did anyone else see the horrible fight on fri night? a group of ten or so blokes came storming out of the mens toilets and a couple started whacking each other over the heads with chairs, what a load of idiots. suzplum
It was pretty late, just before closing time, really unpleasant. God knows what it was about but it was pretty scary as there were quite a few of them and it was right in front of our table. a horrible end to what had been a really good night unfortunately Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8891-fight-at-edt/#findComment-270150 Share on other sites

ayresc
just when your faith gets restored in the British public, there's always a few who forget how to have a drink without throwing their toys out. However, no part of Britain is immune, the rural towns are even worse! If they get caught by the police they'll be treated fairly harshly, you can be assured. Big crackdown on this stuff over the last 5 years. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8891-fight-at-edt/#findComment-270280 Share on other sites
Michael Palaeologus
You couldnt fit 10 men in the blokes privvy in the EDT. If you did, you couldnt open the door so they couldnt storm out.Are you are it wasnt 9?9 men could fit in the privvy, open the door and start a Western Saloon Bar style brawl without a problem. dbboy
Brought to mind a track by The Specials, "ghost town" which includes the infamous line, Too much fighting on the dance floor. mockney piers
Been a while since I've seen trouble t'EDT. ED still a very quiet area in terms of trouble compared to jus about everywhere else though. I'd say new towns are the worst. Pity the reveller in Stevenage or Croydon :-/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8891-fight-at-edt/#findComment-270712 Share on other sites
AcedOut
1 fight in 6 years of living in ED. Hardly a statistical anomaly. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8891-fight-at-edt/#findComment-270714 Share on other sites
Brendan
You see very, very few fights in London considering what a big city it is. It?s the sleepy suburban small towns where you get the barneys. andycam
it's amazing what the expression 'Your mum' can do to a grown man. Stems from those primary school days, when said statement was delivered with painful authority and the confusion you felt when you tried to figure out what your mum had actually done. Oh the cunning psychology. Lol Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8891-fight-at-edt/#findComment-270747 Share on other sites
HonaloochieB
I used to find "your sister kissed a tramp in the park" an effective catalyst for a good donnybrook. andycam
I believe the expression "Your dad has had more bums than a toilet seat" was always a starter of a good old dingdong. Well seeing that it kicked off in a toilet with 10 men.... maybe that was the case. And the dad in questions son was suitably offended and decided that a fight with some chairs was the way to go as the toilet that started it was bolted down. giggirl
May I just chip in and say that my umbrella was pinched from under my seat at the EDT on Saturday night. It was chucking down outside so I wasn't best pleased. The place is obviously a den of murderers and thieves and should be closed down before the crime wave spreads to, say, Black Cherry. That's it - "Closing Time" yet again - Drinkers don't like closing time and it makes them fight. Keep pubs open, that will sort it.
