Alan Medic
If you're right handed but can't use your right arm/hand, what are the likely daily problems you will encounter? Anyone with experience of this? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/88879-difficulties-having-arm-in-a-sling-for-a-few-weeks/ Share on other sites

Jeremy
Not arm... but currently have a broken foot so am on crutches, which is pretty awkward. As DB says, I imagine getting dressed (anything with buttons or zips), writing, typing, preparing food, are going to be difficult. Using a smart phone will be tough, as these days they're all too big to use with one hand. I would have thought shaving (electric), showering, arse wiping, etc should be achievable with your other hand though. Alan Medic
Thanks for the comments though it's not me who will have the problem but my Mrs. Just wondering how much of a carer I will have to be. So she won't be making the dinner then.. . Salsaboy
I certainly wouldn't want to do bum wiping with the 'wrong' hand. TheArtfulDogger
If you are a Bloke with an arm in a sling then playing with yourself can be weird For example solitaire often needs two hands not one, and most video games need two hands.... On the other hand using the other hand to normal may bring certain new experiences and pleasures to yourself 🤔For example the almost orgasmic feeling achieved when brushing your teeth without shoving toothpaste up your nose ... hazelnunhead
Alan, if your partner needs (and her arm is in a cast) I have a spare waterproof thing you can put over it to shower/bath. I broke my wrist 2 years ago, had my arm in a cast for 6 weeks, got used to it after awhile! Easier to wear pull on type clothing, got the hang of basic cooking etc, but difficult to chop etc ..... Hope she heals soon. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/88879-difficulties-having-arm-in-a-sling-for-a-few-weeks/#findComment-944756 Share on other sites
