Louisa
And the lack of responses on this thread sums up just how much gentrification has turned ED into a boring lifeless family orientated suburb. Jeremy
Boring and lifeless? Just because people aren't all excited about sodding NYE? It's almost always an anti-climax. Spending it at home with friends and/or family with a bit of grub and a few bottles is a much better idea. But if you absolutely must have a night out, then I agree that local is better than venturing into central London. I believe the Flying Pig will have no entry charge. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/88112-ny-parties/#findComment-942391 Share on other sites

KidKruger
NY eve over the CPT was a belter in the 90s, free entry (concept of paying to get in would have been just wrong !) and full of the usual characters. These days we either try and stay at home doing what Jeremy suggested, or pop around someone else's house party - which is the action for this year. *Bob*
These are The Wilderness Years for you, Jez. Blah Blah
Family gathering for us, so a house party I guess. Never been one to do New Year in a pub full of strangers. Don't see the appeal of that. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/88112-ny-parties/#findComment-942670 Share on other sites
DulwichFox
New Years Eve.. What are we celebrating.. ?? Back in 1974/5 ish my then girlfriend summed it up... 'We are celebrating the fact that we have survived another year .. ' It's been my thought on the subject ever since.. No different to any other day of the year.. I will be out as usual. There will be more idiots about, people will be making prats of themselves drinking J?gerbombs and thinking they can fight everybody.. I will drink my usual 2 - 3 pints.. and escape the pub by 12.15. Cannot see the point of drinking 4-5 pints. and feeling like a sack of S**t the next day... Happy New Year.. Foxy..
