Hello, our school offer this from reception onwards. It's part of the curriculum (ie not paid for) but is taught by specialist music teachers, rather than part of general classroom learning, if that makes sense?

My son is only in year 1, so not sure if the instrument taught will change / the offering diversify over time.

Whilst I can't confess to be a huge fan of the recorder, I'm pleased that music is part of school life from day 1 (although thinking about it, I actually think music and foreign language both start in term 2 of reception, so that the first term is a gentler ramp up for the newbies).

Thanks everyone. Seems its unusual for it to be a paid for option, but also unusual to offer at reception. Think we'll pass on the basis it is genuinely quite a lot of cash in this instance. Maybe I'll teach him for a while and see if he likes it.

Hi there - my name is James. I am a professional recorder player and teacher in East Dulwich / Peckham offering private lessons at the home of my students should anyone be interested. I have a degree from the Royal Academy of music, and 8 years of teaching experience, as well as having worked with some of the leading professionals today in early and classical music. Please get in touch as I offer a free initial lesson. Regards,

I went once to one on LL and certainly wasn't impressed with their. My dear wife has cut my hair ever since. I don't believe in supporting criminals. • Do you know a Spanish lady called Maria who lives in East Dulwich? My partner is helping a woman she met on Crystal Palace Road this afternoon. She seems confused and unsure where to go. She is in her late 60s, with short grey/dark hair, Black puffer jacket blue tracksuit. Apparently her daughter is also called Maria and lives locally. If anyone knows her please call me on 07980308743. Thanks, Chris
