On Wednesday 9/11/15 the screen on my Lumia 800 phone which was working normally with full battery suddenly went blank. I could not revive it. I went to EE but had to get a new phone.

Today my Ipod touch was working ok. I had a request to upgrade to IOS 9.2 which I performed.. Device still working ok. Then a little while later I got a blank screen and no response when I press buttons or connect charger.

What is going on ??

Foxy have you had any spiritual activity in your house before? I've come across this a few times over the years and the nice people at spiritualist church in Eltham can confirm this. Often times, when spirit is near (especially on anniversary dates significant) they can interfere with electrical/battery operated equipment. Shortly after a family member died a few years ago unexplained things were happening with my television in the siting room. It was switching channels, losing stored channel data and even had unexplained sounds coming from it once it had been turned off. Just thought, it may of course not be anything like that at all but it's worth investigating.

Hi Lou..

No Spiritual activity here that I am aware of..

I did a lot of research into this back in the 70's. With people from The Institute of Physic Research.

Psychometry, Kirlian photography, Infrared (Ghost) Photography. Bio Feedback Meter and Hypnotherapy..

All heavy intense stuff. It gets to you and is not advisable.

Foxy..

I've been delving into it at the my second home for many years now, and after dabbling in some pretty scary stuff I can confirm that I have witnessed and experienced unexplained phenomena hence my scepticism of sceptics. What exactly did you research foxy? Did you manage to substantiate any evidence and reach any personal conclusions from what you learnt during the research? I find it gives me inner peace to go down to well hall road every so often and seek spiritual guidance from the wonderful people who attend. They're so friendly and often willing to help with any problems you may be experiencing with negative forces in the home. Glad your iPod is working now.

Unbelievable .. My Phone has now burst back to life after 3-4 days...

It would not charge (Beep) when I plugged in charger. EE tried their charger but I assume they did not

hold down button. I unplugged / plugged in the USB cable to the mains plug and the phone started to charge.

(Critically low Battery)

But I have a new phone and SIM now so this one useless to me now.

Foxy

I think they saw you coming, Foxy! Maybe in a premonition type way. .

There's a church for Lambrini? Though not really a true spirit... more a ghost of an alcopop.

Anyhoo...

DF, could your electronics have come in contact with something magnetic?

I really rate spiritualist churches, When I was diagnosed with a serious illness some years ago and literally didn't know where to turn I felt drawn to the spiritualist Church in Notting hill (where I was living at the time) and the wonderful women there gave me spiritual healing. Whether you believe in it or nor it gave me tremendous comfort and it was so wonderful to feel so cared about and welcomed by complete strangers.

I'd be interested in getting the details of the Eltham spiritualist church. Is it our nearest?

And how does one get there?

NewWave it is a great place to go for spiritual help and guidance. As you rightly say, believing in it or not these churches offer wonderful friendship and guidance and are totally selfless in their approach. There were once quite a few of these spiritualist churches locally but to my knowledge just a handful remain. The one on Well Hall Road in Eltham offers services mid week and Sunday, alongside healing certain variable days during the week.

    • There is a large amount fresh veg available in the green book cage outside the copleston church, sprouts, spring onions, potatoes, parsnips and bread rolls, pop down shame to see it get wasted
    • On the original topic - there was more of this on Whateley Road today. Same place but the other side of the road. Could be the same dogwalker as for the other nearby roads?   I don't have a dog - but would have thought it's hard for owners not to notice when a dog is doing it in the middle of a pavement?
    • Thought I’d take a trip down to Rye Lane this morning to visit the charity shops etc. I usually park in the Morrisons car park and buy stuff there and then the nearby shops. I know there are a few shops near the Aylesham centre that are having to close (Boots the chemist was a shoplifters favourite over the years) but I was shocked to see the extent of shop closures, graffiti, overall decline in the area.  Sometimes I get the bus and wanted to visit the Crises charity shop but it didn’t open until 10.30am and it had a coffee place inside. They have a shop in Rye Lane but are missing out on early rising customers. Walking down towards Santendar and the Primark store was very empty.Just hope that isn’t due for closure. The security guards are very nonchalant. The Scope charity shop has a prime position but doesn’t promote the shop Greggs have done away with their self service due to the number of thefts of food items.  The Poundland was quite empty too but I visit this one as they have stock since the Camberwell one closed down.
    • Maybe I'm behind the times, but in the old days if you went to a pub for charity fundraiser you'd have a quiz or karaoke and you'd be chipping in for a new scanner at your local hospital or maybe sending some poor kiddie for some cancer treatment abroad. Nowadays you can roll down to the Old Nun's head in Nunhead and tip your money into a bucket for some sad young woman to go a private surgeon and have her breasts sliced off -  as if that was going to be some kind of life-saving treatment!  Not only that, she's publicising her Valentine's crowdfunder with a funny ha ha (not) cartoon of a girl (see pic) with a hypodermic in her bum and calling it 'Valen-Tits-off'. Jesus wept. Whatever happened to hearts and flowers? It's so unbelievably sick. I'm a woman, I've pretty much still got all the woman-bits intact. Periods and puberty weren't much fun, I was bullied at school, wondered about my sexuality and boys and spots and the rest of it, got called a lezzer by the class cow, but I got through it. And I would no more think that cutting bits off a girl was the solution to her misery than I would put my teenage daughter on a diet if she was diagnosed with anorexia. I can't be the only person who finds the pub - and its publicity material - very VERY offensive?
