It's a more insidious process (again that's a different discussion), but it has not translated into territorial dominance of East London by extremists. And by implying it has (which you seem to be doing) you are indeed talking about British (ie mainly white) people vs Islamic (mainly Arabic/African) people. So skin colour does become a factor. Though I'll concede it's a minor one, as there are several examples of radicalised white British Muslim converts who go to Syria and do a modern day Lord Haw Haw.Anyway - localised crime/extremist Jihadis, not the same thing, I guess is my point. mikeb
I run all around London (for fun) and I can confirm I have never come across a no-go area anywhere in south or east London. Yes, I am a bit more careful at night but still no issue with anywhere including Angell Town, Burgess Park, north Peckham, Tower Hamlets, Carey Gardens, Winstanley Estate, Tulse Hill.Grok - name one street or estate that I should test out and I will report back how it goes, both at daytime and night. If you like, then please name 5 areas and I'll rank them for you. Louisa
More to do with the way in which it was built I would argue, dark connecting corridors with little or no lighting. Very poor post war building resulted in places for crime to easily flourish. Louisa. mikeb
Sumner Road and Friary Road and surrounding estates - no problems. In fact, Friary Rd is now a little chic.I'm looking for a challenge - I'm not very fast so if I come across somewhere genuinely dangerous then I will need to get a personal best to escape. miga
I think we can all agree, at this festive time, that with sufficient armed and logistical support, as well as appropriate safety equipment, nowhere in London need be a "no go" area. It's "all go". Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/86182-donald-trump/page/3/#findComment-936871 Share on other sites

????
Sadly, there's also an online pettion supporting closing our borders a la Trump that apparently has more support than the Trump one but is not getting the 'press'All this online petition and the simplistic, thick, virtual signalling crap of the politics of Social Media is actually restoring my faith in Representative Democracy rather than Direct Democracy. Louisa
Just seen on the BBC News that 2/3 of Republican primary voters polled, claimed to support trump's idea of a ban on Muslims visiting the States. Louisa
Hopkins is a shock jock, pure and simple. The more you hate her, you more she digs her heels in and carries on with what she does. I actually really like her style, I think we could learn a lot from her. I don't agree with her on Trump, but guess what she has the right to say and do what she pleases in a democracy. I'd quite like to see her up against Lady Colin Campbell, now that would be highly entertaining. Louisa.
