Hi Karen, you likely already know this but if not, thought it'd be worth mentioning that you can get advice for free from a solicitor through the Citizens Advice Bureau. I've used their free, one on one, in person, solicitor consultation service before and it was very helpful.

Not sure what stage you're at/what the issue is, but Shelter's housing advice line is apparently very useful and not just for people who are homeless. They also have various fact sheets and template letters on their website http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice
