Beebowe
We massively over catered for a party this evening, and were wondering if anyone knew of any homeless charities that might want to take some food off our hands? It's mostly cooked so won't last long, but we won't eat it all and it seems a shame to waste it.We don't drive, but could drop off in walking distance of Peckham. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations, or other ideas. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/85722-spare-food-any-charities/ Share on other sites

Blah Blah
Yes I'd go for All Saints as they have Foodcycle there on Saturdays (today) making a free meal at 6pm. They will certainly be able to use it. www.foodcycle.org.uk/location/peckham-hub Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/85722-spare-food-any-charities/#findComment-934646 Share on other sites
Nigello
Would the hostel at the top of Barry Road be of any use: it's not a walk, but a bus ride away and they could well drive to you. If you can't get rid of it I am sure your neighbours would love to have it, even if they may not be in need. GinaG3
There is also a new app called OLIO, you can advertise free food for collection to local people. Businesses participate too and advertise cakes, pastries etc to minimise end of day waste. goosey-goosey
King's College Hospital also needs donations of tinned food, pasta, rice, and dry food to support frail patients in the first few days after operations, before support services kick in. I saw posters asking for donations around the hospital today. I think you can simply drop them off at the KCL Friends shop in the hospital. Raid the back of your kitchen shelves for those Christmas leftovers, people!
