Katy2
Dear ForumWe are local and need to move my father-in-law with Motor Neurons Disease to be close to us from his current unsuitable first floor flat in Queens Park. We need somewhere immediately and are at a complete dead end. He needs a wheelchair now so the flat must be accessible by wheelchair externally and internally. We also need to be able to adapt it - bars etc so he can use it safely. We are at our wits end as so many rentals in East Dulwich, and close by, are Victorian Conversions with steps to the front, narrow door ways, internal steps etc. Having trawled estate agents, right move etc we have realised that fighting a losing battle. Does anyone know of anywhere suitable? We think it is going to be have to a new build or perhaps council/ex council. He doesn't qualify for council help and we have also looked at Lew Evans house which is only for those with low income. Any advice, pointers or suggestions would be so welcome! With Many ThanksLaura Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/85136-searching-for-properties-to-rent-for-my-disabled-father-in-law-help/ Share on other sites
dillmeadow
I'm letting a ground floor one bed flat in Dulwich/Crystal Palace which might be suitable. There is a step free route from the parking space and/or the road via a long slope, and the flat has hard floors suitable for wheels. Rent is ?1200 pcm and includes a large garage and parking space. Please PM for details.
