Well the Brockwell Park fireworks were brill, and much better than I remember Crystal Palace being last year (and free, too!) but getting out of the Park afterwards was an absolute nightmare.

I was so glad I didn't have kids with me, and amazed if noone got hurt.

Total bottleneck at both tiny entrances at the Herne Hill side, with no pedestrian crossing at the main entrance (Railton Road end). People were trying to climb over the railings to get out, and apart from a few police etc at the actual exits, there was nobody apparently to give information about what was happening to the massive queues.

Buses were rammed too, had to walk back to ED :))

Had you had a few last night Declan?

The Latin is a common phrase, indicating even people you trust doing the same as everyone else - in this case Leagle starting (yet another) thread on fireworks

Mild joke admittedly -

Asking admin to include a search function is another mild joke - ie there IS one already. Nowt to do with any "connection"

Why is it mean for you to specifically as about slinking away? I used slink away because

a) "slink" is a great word

b) the whole post was a silly arc of a joke, with the "punchline" being the equivalent of "I'll get me coat"

This place is getting way too serious

    • Hi everyone! I'm moving house this month so would be super grateful if anyone has some moving boxes that they're happy to part with. I could collect any day from Friday (11th April). Please reach out if you can help, thank you!
    • Try out Louise's story, published midday Tuesday on PECKHAM PODCAST, about her 5 year battle with Long Covid. This long road has led her to set up her own theatre company designed to support children with the disease. • Well yes.  But only up to a point eu countries have had to spend a LOT of money to accommodate English madness  - and has had to deal with years of incoherent positioning.  It has destabilised the EU as a group - or has at the very least distracted it and consumed bandwidth  which is why Putin was so pro-Brexit. Which enabled other subsequent events - it’s hard to imagine the world as it is now without Brexit.  A stronger EU.  Uk not a mess and in its own after multiple elections and way more prime ministers than 9 years could possibly allow   a stronger united front
    • I have mail delivered for a Ms L Missen, would like to give it to them.
