davidm
there are 6 to 8 wheelie bins at the end of Matham Grove before you get to Lordship Lane. They are for the indian restaurant Pistaccio Club and several other shops / flats. The problem is they are overflowing mostly with discarded indian food. The result is that the end of the road is smelly with food debris on pavement and vermin has been seen there. Does anyone know how we get the restaurant/council to clean it up, restrict the time that rubbish can be put out?any help/ suggestions appreciated thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/849-matham-grove-bins/ Share on other sites

Carrie
You could try contacting Ian Smith at Southwark Council ( [email protected]) he is the head of hygiene services -I have been in contact with him today after catching a southwark street cleaner having a p*ss up against a wall when I was on my way into work! Nero
This is not just pissing against a wall. This is Southwark Council's new enviro-friendly directive to help reuse otherwise wasted, nutrient full liquid to help water the weeds and mosses pissing against a wall. 2Sheds
Hi DavidThe end of Matham Grove is truly disgusting. The collection of bins belong to the Pistachio Club, the Surma, the flat above V7, Green & Blue and Celestial. The new residents above Green & Blue also choose to leave their rubbish at the site on a daily basis. The household waste, packed in black bin liners and carrier bags includes nappies a human waste. The foxes visit every night, rip the bags open and leave a disgusting trail of debris almost every morning. In this warm weather it really is vile.I have been taking photographs on a daily basis over the last 3 weeks and I have sent them to environmental health and the planning department. (They allowed the development above Green & Blue and should have made some sort of provision for the storage and collection of rubbish from those flats) So far the only difference is the arrival of another bin! Many Matham Grove residents are annoyed by the current situation and perhaps after years of filth at the end of our street created by traders and residents who don't live here and don't care, perhaps we should take direct action. For the time being though, I suggest we should form an action group to discuss the matter and put pressue on the council.Louis Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/849-matham-grove-bins/#findComment-21088 Share on other sites
