Dear all,

As a local junior doctor I am, along with my colleagues very much affected by the current ongoing debate with the Department of Health and the Secretary of State, MP Jeremy Hunt with their planned imposition of a new contract for all junior doctors.

We are facing the might of the government's spin and media machine and as such we have collectively decided that we need to speak to the members of the public in order for us to be able to help people understand the nature of the debate and why we are so worried about the future of our NHS and the patients we serve.

We are holding our first public meeting at the Horniman Gardens in Forest Hill this Saturday 7th Nov from 10am-12pm and will be available around the bandstand area. We will also be joined by the Shadow Health Secretary MP Heidi Alexander from 10am.

Please come along and ask us any questions you have about this very important issue.

Thank you for reading and sharing this with your friends and family.

Best wishes,

Dr Ravin Mistry

    • Gosh, a mere 61 years since "It's my party".  I didn't know at the time that it was QJ's first production.  I remember it like last week and probably have him to thank, for beating Spector to it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It's_My_Party
    • Quincy Jones Born March 14, 1933, Chicago, Illinois, U.S. Died November 3, 2024 (aged 91), Los Angeles, California, U.S. Simply a musical legend of his time who's contribution to RnB, Soul and jazz music should never be under estimated.  Record producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. He worked with many of the soul and jazz legends himself, and he has a back catalogue of material I urge you to listen to and enjoy. He will be sadly missed.
    • Used Leon for the first time today as our usual electrician was out of London. neighbour gave us his details as we lost all power in the lower part of our house. Fortunately we had a separate circuit for the first floor so could boil up a kettle. Leon when rang advised he could come this afternoon, turned up and checked every thing and got power back on and to call him back if we had any more problems. Reasonable rate considering it was an emergency call out. Nice chap, very helpful, would recommend.
    • Hubby went in to enquire re washing a double duvet - cost quoted £20.  He paid £25 a few weeks ago of another duvet in a laundrette opposite Peckham Bus Garage.
