helena handbasket Posted September 24, 2009 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Margate. Not nearly as cute as Whitstable or Broadstairs, but by far the best beach in the area. Loads of really really great sand and not as busy. Don't expect to fall in love with the town though. There's quite a bit to do for the little ones too.....it also encourages romance ladies! My man dropped down on one knee on Stone Bay beach and asked me to marry him. A very memorable day indeed.
