Timpsons key cutting service

I was astounded at the price I was given today for 2 keys to be cut in Timpspns at DKH sainsburys ?14!!! ?14..... For 2 keys... Sod that and off I went to Callows ?7.50 for both and kind well mannered service! 14 bloody pound!!

That is exactly where I went! I only popped into Timpsons because I remembered I needed them doing and the convenience of them being in the car park as I was leaving... But I was speechless at the cost and unfriendly man who I interuptted from his iPad!

I got my house keys cut recently in Penge at Carneys, two for ?5!

They wanted to charge me ?9.99 for a short bugle small cat tag!

I used Timpspns at DKH a month back out of convenience and yes they are expensive but what bugged me more was the poor quality of the keys. I went back to the chap in the dry cleaners next to the post office on Lordship Lane recently.

The DIY/hardware place opposite Foxton's - more or less - and near to Celestial on LL is fast and reliable. Having used Timpson's on the Strand and had to take them back at least three times I won't go near them again.

hello I experienced this shock when I had 3 regular keys cut at Timpsons whilst shopping in Sainsbury ?18 . I was reeling!

Now I come to think of it, I did not have a receipt. I wanted to refuse to take them, as had the surly key cutter told me the price before I handed my keys over I would have declined. He held onto my original keys until I had paid. A few weeks previously I had 3 keys cut at Plough diy for ?8.50 (and a till receipt).

It's a sick feeling to know you have been ripped off and I do sympathise. and empathise

The key cutter in the dry cleaners next to the post office on Lordship Lane is great, and very good value. He is also a cobbler and friendly.
