Planning a Christmas lunch gathering for 30/35, any local (pub, cafeteria) venue recommendations please?

Hi Darren.

Come to the Cherry Tree. New owners and new managers. Recently refurbished we have a very large pub, real fires in a beautiful old building. We had a locals night the other day and we were giving out samples of of Christmas menu with excellent feedback. Anyone on here that came? What did you think of the food on Thursday night?

Potato soup (with foie gras ?2.50 extra)

Pigeon & pork terrine, remoulade, sourdough

Peckham gin cured salmon, pickled cucumber, lemon, horseradish

Pear, stilton, pickled walnut, endive salad

Goats curd & squash ravioli, sage butter

Plate of jamon serrano (?2.50 extra)

Turkey & the trimmings

Braised ox cheek, suet dumplings

Venison haunch, red cabbage, celeriac dauphinoise, chocolate & juniper sauce

Seabass fillet, salsify, brown shrimp butter, almonds & kale

Jerusalem artichoke, wild mushroom & berkswell gratin

Chocolate & orange pot, shortbread

Lemon polenta cake, poached quince

Clementine trifle

Cheese, crackers & chutney

Cherry Tree, are you open on Christmas and Boxing Day?

Hi... Yes we're open at noon for a drink or lunch on Christmas day and closing around 6pm. We have a Christmas day menu for ?65 per person.
