Have the French got the right idea ?

Saw this a while ago and thought what a great idea http://www.wired.com/2014/02/paris-subway-remodels/

However I suspect if tfl tried it they would just let the tunnels flood next time it rains and not drain them after thus creating a natural underground swamp !

Maybe they should try this at some of the old station we no longer use also I am sure they had something like this in the Victorian area?
