MirandaS
HiI am in the process of purchasing a property on Athenlay road, Nunhead. I have had a building surveying completed which found extensive damp throughout the property which wasn't evident when I made an offer back at the beginning of Summer. The surveyor reported that the likely cause of the damp, is due to building working on the property next door (new building development). He also stated that this is likely to be an ongoing problem for several years requiring repeated treatments.I am visiting the property this Saturday 10/10 @ 11am for 45 minutes and was hoping to finding a builder who specialises in damp proofing to visit with me to quote the cost of the repairs and extent of the problem. There are other concerns about the property.Any recommendations? Many thanks Lissa Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/78145-damp-proof-specialist-and-builder-required-for-house-inspection-this-saturday/ Share on other sites
Calsug
Was it a full structural survey? You're on the right track to get a damp proof company in to quote how much it would cost to fixWould recommend a company called Kenwoods, they are good at putting together a full report which you can pass onto the sellersWhen we were buying earlier this year our surveyor found damp issues downstairs, we then got Kenwoods in to quote to fix the damp problem and got the house price reduced as a result - do not underestimate how much it will cost to fix it can be very expensive, creates a lot of mess and will require redecorating Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/78145-damp-proof-specialist-and-builder-required-for-house-inspection-this-saturday/#findComment-911331 Share on other sites
