Nigello
That is disgusting. I won't be eating there again - ever. Vote with your feet, folks! XIX
If you think the bags on the pavement are bad you should see the inside of the yard. Gate was left open during Christmas period. Utterly filthy, stinking, waste bags stacked 6 feet high, food spilling out, all right outside backdoor to kitchen. Disgraceful. This is still not dealing with the issue of the waste though nor the fact it was dumped on the street in the first place! sweetgirl
Hi James....Something I'd like to raise with you is the lack of street bins in the area!It used to be quite normal to find one near a bus stop.... But they are gradually decreasing!I do remember once seeing something on the forum about it... But can't remember what.My son generally gives me his rubbish to dispose of, but it's difficult to dispose of it in the correct manner if no bins are in sight! Please fill me in as to what's going on regarding the bins. Can we get a replacement bin at the p13 stop outside Harris primary such plse? Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7779-former-east-dulwich-councillor-how-can-i-help/page/225/#findComment-1209058 Share on other sites
Nigello
The bin near the bus stand/church at the LL end of Barry Road has disappeared - it should be brought back because it's a place of heavy footfall, especially children. Pugwash
The bin and bus stand were both demolished by a crash in the last week. It happened in the early hours of the morning apparently, so very little is known. alex_b
James I know this is a bit off your patch, but there is a really dangerous broken pavement (and sinkhole) outside 42 Maxted Rd. I?ve reported on the Southwark streets website but I don?t know if that gets looked at on the weekend. On a more general point the Southwark website gives a ?24 hr? number but when you phone it there?s a recording stating it?s only open office hours. Could you ask to have the site updated please? alex_b
James - Thanks, the number on https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=276&np=1 (Tel: 020 7525 2000 (24 hours)) just sends you to a recorded message saying the line is closed and open during business hours. Northeastview - It's about two feet deep and seems to have undermined about three paving slabs, one of which has broken and half fallen into the hole. It's not going to swallow a house, but big enough for someone to step into and break a leg. James Barber
Hi sweetgirl,You asked at 4.08pm on Friday. I've asked council officers for a schedule of SE22 street bins but they have up to 10 working days to respond. As soon as I have that list and any changes to it in the last 12 months I'll let you know and we ca work out where we need new ones.sweetgirl Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Any info on the bins James? Tom Smith
Hi JamesI remember you posted a while ago in a different thread that you were investigating whether front yard bike sheds needed planning permission. hammerman
Seems like James Barber has to try to help with some quite trivial things on the forum i.e. dealing with street bins, sink holes, bike sheds etc.? alex_b
He does and I greatly appreciate the work he does. In my mind the problem is that Southwark council are so opaque and inaccessible that contacting councillors over fairly trivial issues is the only way to get a timely response. Nigello
I don't think litter and sink holes are trivial, nor bike sheds. philosophie
Hello, on Colwell Road, some builders appear to have roughly hacked off one of the street trees, presumably to make way for some of their equipment. Surely this is illegal as it is council property? I can stand walking past the tree now as it was so beautiful in spring and now looks so destroyed. Builders appear to be still there as scaffolding is still up. Is there anything you can do? James Barber
Hi philsophie,It is indeed. I'll alert council officers. Thanks for pointing this out. Specklemum
Hi philosophie, if I?m thinking of the same tree I believe it was damaged when the scaffolding you mention toppled over onto the pavement some time towards the end of last year. Scary to think what could have happened if a person had been stood there at the time... philosophie
Oh, that's terrible but good to know what caused it. Sounds like a v dodgy building company. The way the tree's been left is just horrible... James Barber
Hi Tom,The planning advice I've received is that as long as the front bike shed is temporary and easily removed then no planning permission is required. Temporary isn't that they will be temporary rather that they're not built with bricks and mortar or a wooden shed that is weary hard to remove with destroying. Does that answer your question?Tom Smith Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Hi James> > I remember you posted a while ago in a different> thread that you were investigating whether front> yard bike sheds needed planning permission.
