Don't you know apparently more people travel by bus than any other vehicle in London.

This gives Buses the right to stop all other traffic whilst they load up with the thousands and thousands of passengers they collect at every bus stop.

So bus stops stick out into the road and cause all other vehicles a mobile obstruction it?s not good enough that they have their own dedicated lanes and traffic lights phased to allow buses through whilst causing tail backs for other vehicles.

TFL has complete control over the roads of london.

All the millions of bus users and those delightfully careful bus drivers who not content with having traffic lights their own lanes and stops which mean they don?t need to turn the sterring wheel for anyting other than turning a corner ? which the struggle with often crossing lanes? etc etc ?..

The balance of power has gone too far in the direction of TFL ?.

It was a great experiment and it works fine from 7am to 10am and 4 pm to 7pm

Is there really any justicfication for all the 24hr bus lanes why can?t busses just pull into the curb to collect passengers ?????

Woolworth road is a joke Peckham Rye is a Joke ?.

The No entry sign at Peckham Rye has been replaced with a confusing blue circular sign? Is it to confuse non locals?

only if you're being sarcastic fred!

I bet if the shoe was on the other foot - you were the one stuck on a packed boiling hot bus in solid traffic you wouldnt see it in the same light.

Yes the roads are not perfect but I hardly think it's the fault of TFL!

There is also an "order" sign ie blue circular sign saying no pedestrians or cyclists to the entrance of rye lane. ....?

Wft everyone understood the no entry sign with an except buses sign below it ...

Also I still don't understand why the one way system was changed how long before it goes back to being a one way system?

The constant tinkering with the roads is a complete waste of our money!

Ever since TFL have taken over our roads, traffic has got out of control. Yes I agree with frazer71, what he says make sense, but not to TFL or our Gov and Councils. Whoever makes these decisions obviously does not drive around London if they did they would see the stupid mistakes that are made in favour of TFL. They will never get people out of their cars and into Public transport, as KalamityKel says" If you were the one stuck on a packed boiling hot bus in solid traffic you wouldn?t see it in the same light." Standing traffic causes more pollution than moving traffic.

TFL, Gov and Councils, there only aim is to make Money of the back of the Motorist.

Hi Clementsann26,

Very long story. Many many many years ago before my time Southwark Council sold this property to someone. Ever since they've been trying to get planning permission to demolish it and replace with a block of flats.

I sat the Dulwich Community Council Planning Committee that met in from memory March/April an refused permission.

The owner will either appeal and I suspect lose or bid their time and make a further application and rely on the new centralised planniing committees to let it through. DDC planning committe was disbanded in May.

That's the most stupid sign I've ever seen. Peckham Rye is a high street what is the point of a sign saying pedestrian and cyclists (and nothing else) to enter then next to it another sign showing a motorcycle and a car does that mean cars and motorcycles (and nothing else) to enter .

When there was a no entry sign and an except buses sign it was clear ...... maybe I?m wrong but to me it looks likely to cause confusion and that confusion would translate into a camera catching a confused driver and resulting in a fine. If that is so it appears to be a money making change in the signage do we want our council to carry out that kind of process on our behalf "they are there to serve us??? Not there make us stressed confused and entrap us into being fined.

There is a similar issue at the Hearne Hill when turning right at the traffic light junction from Half moon lane turning right into milkwook road. Lambeth council sit a smart camera car on milkwood road to catch anyone turning up milkwood the signage is very unclear as it shows left only at the lights but there isn?t a no entry sign or no right turn sign just a left turn sign which appears to end before milkwood rd. So many cars turn up milk wood if they placed a no right turn or no entry sign then it would be clear. But nooo they confuse and have a smart car camera car there and 3 years after the junction was altered they still catch several drivers fining them ?120 for what has been setup to confuse rather than guide.

Rye lane signage looks like to be the same disgusting thought process. To generate fines ?

I agree about looking like its trying to catch people out. I've been caught myself, got a fine for driving through the wrong bit going the other way a few years back. We were convinced the signage wasn't clear but didn't get round to complaining about it at the time.

CALL FOR A STOP ON UNFAIR FINES

AS LAMBETH COUNCIL CAMERAS ROLL

The recently built pinch point on Salters Hill has become notorious for creating ?give way? offences and generating penalty notices for unsuspecting motorists. According to Councillor Graham Pycock, ?This restriction may have slowed down the traffic at a dangerous point, which is what we wanted. However, the council?s camera cops are regularly there to generate penalty notices and revenue. The alleged offences are based upon dubious camera long-shots and take no account of speed.?

?This is legalised mugging and these motorists are victims not villains. Meanwhile a yobs? army of the untaxed, unregistered and uninsured drivers never has to pay these fines. Lambeth Council, like the government, is tough on honest motorists and soft on cheats. It is grossly wrong that the council is prosecutor and judge on technical offences which only exist because the council itself created the camera trap.?

?I will request that the use of mobile enforcement cameras on Salters Hill is reviewed, alongside a review of the effect of the pinch point itself. We want safer roads not unfair fines.?

And this is what all the Councils seem to be doing.

It always surprises me how those little smart cars are left alone .

If they were in France Spain or even Germany I think they'd be set on fire or have buckets of paint poured over them at the very least!

We're a soft touch we can't even be bothered to fight a fine for a questionable photo of a supposed contravention from the local Tonton Macoute...... Working for papadoc Southwark ....

Truly shameful ...

No 28 east dulwic grove, front and back garden is terribly overgrown. The house is cracking up and i am concerned about our property. Sat in the garden the other day we saw a massive rat!

Can u find out who owns it and get it reported please.

Hi Clementsann26,

If no.28 EDG has plants obstructing the public highway then council officers will take action. I'll look tonight on way home from work.

With respect to foliage going across into your private gardens, possibly damaginng your property, this would be a private matter between you and the owners of no.28. If you dont know the owner then you can search for the deeds stating ownership via HM Land Registry. Email me if you need any help in how to do this.

Hi Clementsann26,

I'm afraid HM Land Registry charge ?4 per deed.

Hi DawnSE22,

Southwark PCT and the Dulwich Medical Centre have been proven not to follow the correct procedures and processes so an extension of the publci consultaion to 27 August has been agreed. My colleague councillor Jonathan Mitchell is leading on this for us. To support or object the proposed 100 hour phamarcy at the Dulwich Medical centre with needle exchange - which seems a strange idea opening effectively a shop in a residential street - email Kathy Dinning [email protected] who is the manager in charge of pharmcacy and optometry's.

Is it a necessary for a licensing applicant to initiate a noise report. Is it a formal part of the process?

Thanks

I've just found possibly a useful gadget from UK Power Networks for checking on power cuts and when they think electricity would be restored - call 0800 028 0247 or test Power and your post code with the space eg. "Power SE22 8HA" to 80876.

Do give me feedback no how it goes.

They've also provide a public relations line for councillors so we can directly escalate issues.

The consultation about Goose Green hosting a 300 person outdoor film one evening 7.30-11.30pm has resulted in the event not proceeding at Goose Green.

I did express my doubts abotu what volume the film would need to be played at being so close to East Dulwich road versus its normal venue of Peckham Rye Park and Nunhead. And whether only 300 people would want to come to a free film.

Shame someting couldnt be worked out.
