Hi Bob,

I contacted my Royal Mail complaints manager contact asking if we could hold a publci meeting at the sorting office for residents to explain the problems they've been encountering.

They have come back to me asking residents to refer problems to them via 08457 740 740 or via www.royalmail.com The more complaints they receive the more attention East Dulwich Royal Mail will receive to improve.

I've again asked for a public meeting.

Hi Peckhamboy,

The new Denmark Hill station is intended to open Summer 2012. So moving the crossing on Champion Park has occurred a year early. Irony is the crossing are meant to make people safer but for the next year will result in extra danger. Hopefully no ones gets killed or injured.

Hi Freddy1929,

The latest on the Lordship Lane crossing is that the latest plans will be presented at the Dulwich Community Council 15 September.

Seperately I've met with a rep of the traders to discuss how to replace any lost car parking and have some really useful proposals from them. They've also asked to appear at the Community Council and potentially object ot the crossing plans.

If you want a crossing please do come to the Community Council and bring anyone else you know with a view on this.

Hi Ko,

A consultation about this unfenced play area, adjacent to the Peckham Rye 1 O'clock club, and its promimity to the adjacent cycle route will take place in September and soon after the agreed solution will be implimented.

As I hear more I'll keep you posted.

Sorry to hear about your loss,thank you for your assistance re the mail a public meeting seem's the right way to go but the post office do not seem to keen on the idea I wonder why.I have used the phone No and the web site you have posted and would urge others to do the same you do get a reply ( The situation is being monitored ) is there any way we can make the post office have a public meeting any Formites reading this post would you attend a meeting to try to sort this problem with missing post ?

Late yesterday I received an email from Royal Mail that a public meeting at the ED sorting office isn't possible but they MAY be able to support a public meeting at a more suitable location. They've also offered me a meeting with the local manager but ask me to provide VERY specific examples of post going awry.

So anyone out their with specific examples and ideally Royal Mail reference numbers for complaints I guess please email me them stating Royal Mail problem in the subject header. The more examples the better - otherwise they'll fob me and I'll look silly for making mountain out of mole hill. Hope that makes sense.

Hi James - apologies if this is not your area but there seems to be a significant phasing problem with the temporary traffic lights at the junction of Village Way/Red Post Hill/East Dulwich Grove. There are roadworks due to gas main work and so the junction is very different to usual.

I crossed the junction twice this morning at school run time and both times 5 or 6 cars travelled (from the village to Red Post Hill) through the green man that was indicating it was safe for pedestrians to cross.

It didn't seem that these were cars taking chances and going through a just red light but did seem to have gone through their light at green but it just took much longer for the cars to get through the junction that by the time they got to the temporary pedestrian crossing the green man was showing. In fact, for about 3/4 of the time the green man was showing, there were cars continuing through the junction.

Is this something you can help with? I am not sure how long the roadworks are going to be there for but the crossing is currently very dangerous and will be even more so when all the schools are back.

I have reported this problem to the council manager concerned.

I;ve asked the temp lights be checked as a matter of some urgency. That if incorrect phasing be corrected. If correct phaising what enforcement can be undertaken and if the video smartcars would be appropriate.

Hi alik,

The signage for all the roads bounded by Lordship Lane, Barry Road, Whateley Road and including Whateley Road are currently having 20mph speed limit signs installed during the next two weeks. So before mid September Whately road will have a speed limit of 20mph. Sorry its taken quite so long to make happen. The change of administration stopped the original plans and we've had to find alternative funding to continue with it.

I have many examples of DVDs sent to me by Lovefilm via Royal Mail going missing. I don't have the reference numbers for royal mail complaints as everything is handled through Lovefilm. I will drop them a note with your contact details though,as this is a significant problem (they have threatened to close my account so many discs have gone missing) and they may wish to be involved.

I'm glad its not just me experiencing problems!

Yes the 20 MPH signs are up in Whateley Rd ...

But at the end of Ulverscroft road, the old sign.. '20 MPH Zone Ends. 30 MPH'

are still in place.

This is very misleading.

in the last 2 weeks, water has twice been cut off to Landells Rd and Goodrich Rd. This has been due to gas repair men damaging the water pipes.

once is unfortunate, but twice in two weeks is ridiculous. can something be done about this, eg get competent people to do the gas work???

I have used the village junction 3 times since yesterday. Every time at least 3 cars travelled through the junction when the green man was showing. So no improvement yet. It does seem to be worse in the morning with a higher volume of traffic.

I made a point of popping over to the Village Way road works. I'm bemused why at 19am on a Saturday with the whole road closed nothing was happening. However I didn't see any of the problem you'd described but I am awaiting council officials to properly feedback.

For this who've spotted weeds on Goodrich and Crystal Palace Roads the weeding will take place by 25 September - thanks to Nero for highlighting this to me.

What otter streets need weeding?

How much does it cost for the council to "weed" streets? There must be a cost. More or less than library services to be discussed in Dulwich Library. I'd rather weed my bit and have the library left alone.
