Hi there Helen,

I've been a registered childminder for a year and half now and it took me roughly 7 months from the initial meeting to being able to look after children.

However, alot depends on how quickly your course follows your pre-reg meeting and all the red tape you have to go through, such as CRB checks. Mine were really fast but I have known childminders whose CRB's took ages to come back.

Hopefully you won't have to wait long, good luck, it's a great job to have these days and just to reassure you, I constantly had people asking me if I had vacancies, there's a big lack of qualified and reliable childminders out there!

Elly

    • The point is Seph,  that if I was in charge of the government, even if it has no hope, it would be making me wonder why people were signing . Especially if it gets much bigger.  Who knows, maybe there will be a reshuffle at the top.
    • If I was a half-aware human being I would wonder why anyone would believe those signatories were real and not bots    but even if they were real - uk elections are held every 4 or 5 years.  Now sit down everyone
    • The concept of Rachel Reeves being deposed from power soon may well have some validity.  There is an online pertition that I was sent this afternoon calling for a new general election based on "I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election."  Thos afternoon it had 750,000 signatures now at 10pm on Sunday evening it had over 1.6 million signatures.  Whilst it has no hope, if I was Kier I would be questioning why so many people seem to be up in arms.
